Idiotam habemus - Trumpum the Bigly XXX - Trump thread #143

No grey smoke necessary.

First 100 days have come and gone. Vance has killed the Pope, Musk is melting away and Trump's tariffs are on a slow boat to China.

Coming soon... Bigly's Birthday Parade. What could possibly go wrong?

Trump is asked whether UK will accept US beef, he says that "they'll accept the cuts they want."

Says RFK is heading towards the UK system, with no chemicals in beef.

Spandauer · 08/05/2025 16:32

We can buy whichever beef we want from the US... so that's probably none then.

I thought Vance looked like he was struggling to keep up and seemed less than impressed with the mutual 'special relationship' love in that was going on. A lot of brow furrowing... or maybe it was just a touch of wind?

SCOOP: UK has agreed to accept 13,000 tonnes of US beef — BUT has to be high-quality beef and UK farmers get THE SAME access to US market. That amount is ~1.5 % of the UK beef market.

Agreed.

Honestly, it may be a small amount right now but you know they are going to keep pushing for more. Labour have already shown how little they think of the farming/agriculture sector in this country...

DuncinToffee · 08/05/2025 16:54

Labour is looking at a more important deal with the EU, lowering food standards would scupper that.

Rubio to speak to Pakistan, with the US apparently tiding the lead in de-escalation efforts…. God help us.

In 'normal' circumstances I'd say that 'lil Marco' had 'the minimum acceptable amount' of experience to speak to Pakistan since at least he worked on the Foreign Relations Ctme during his time in Congress.

At least he's not a Fox host or some real estate guy. That's in no way an endorsement of him, though. Because in this case I'm sure he's just a mouthpiece spouting Scrotus' bullshit; "Hey, stop it and I'll build a big beautiful tower like I did in India". I'm surprised that Pakistan even deigns to meet with a representative of the US, let alone a kiss ass like Rubio.

I genuinely don't understand this. They get to sell us 13,000 tonnes of beef and we get to sell them 13,000 tonnes of beef. What's the point? Why not just keep your own 13,000 tonnes and save the postage?

I'd get it if we didn't have cows in UK and we got to send them 13,000 tonnes of spotted dick.

Serpentstooth · 08/05/2025 17:39

Glad to hear Kennedy looking at chemicals. He would doubtless benefit from a few, supervised by a kindly medic.

namechangedtemporarily123 · 08/05/2025 17:44

I’ve got a real ‘beef’ with the beef thing. Won’t it hurt American farmers more than our’s, to bring their standards up to our’s, to sell their beef to us?

JoshLymanSwagger · 08/05/2025 17:53

There's a new pope, let's just hope it's not a massive tv screen with a pic of 🍊

🤞

Igotjelly · 08/05/2025 18:16

An American pope!

Igotjelly · 08/05/2025 18:16

Not the bigly twat though!

Igotjelly · 08/05/2025 18:18

Pope Robert!

Serpentstooth · 08/05/2025 18:18

An American Pope. How is that possible when Bigly's busy with the Presidency? Job share?

CaveMum · 08/05/2025 18:18

American Pope Leon! You can’t make this up!

Expected to be moderate and focussed on issues such as social justice.

That’ll be interesting speaking truth to power.

Igotjelly · 08/05/2025 18:27

He looks very chipper.

MigsandTiggs · 08/05/2025 18:32

Trump will be so happy.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/05/2025 18:33

I'm stunned but happy at the election of the first American Pope, Leo XIV.

I know nothing about him as I'm not Catholic, but I hope he continues Francis' trend as a (relatively) progressive pope.

DuncinToffee · 08/05/2025 18:33

This is so funny

AcrossthePond55 · 08/05/2025 18:34

Of course, I expect Scrotus to take credit for his election.
