Leftovers from the week today, mostly as toppings for homemade sweetcorn waffles.

Yesterday was asparagus and hollandaise sauce in pancakes. Fiddly to make but tasty. Steamed the asparagus in the oven for the first time.

Lentil and sweet potato cottage pie with broccoli and green beans.

Do you have a recipe please? I've never used lentils before.

What, just wrapped in pancakes?

Pan fried salmon with wilted spinach, salad and sourdough bread followed by crackers and Camembert. First meal I have cooked on our Motorhome as we have just eaten out first couple of days.

Caesar salad. Not the classic recipe so purists look away now. Added chicken, avocado, tomato and made some concoction of a dressing with sour cream, mustard, garlic and white wine vinegar. Not an anchovy in sight.

Peri peri chicken breast cooked with peppers.

One pot Bolognese, I used tri colour fusilli instead of spaghetti and just chucked it in the sauce and let it cook instead of using another pan.

How did this work out? I am cripjs about the amount of starch that you won’t drain away? Does it make the bolognaise thirsty?

I had everything completely cooked before I put the pasta in, I added a bit more water to the pan so that it didn't soak up all the sauce, then turned the heat off and left it for a couple of hours to absorb, I went back later when I was ready to eat and just heated it all through & it was perfect

I had no idea what a New York strip was so I've just googled it. It's just sirloin steak?

MeltonInTheHeat · 29/04/2025 06:41

Out tonight. We have a tiny local pub that has recently started doing meals once a week. You have a choice of two things (veg or non-veg) and that's it. The cook is a pub regular who is a keen and very good cook. No idea what the options are until we get there- you just ring and say 'two places please, one veg one non-veg' . The food is always really good so I am looking forward to it!

sashh · 29/04/2025 07:42

I've just had a Sainsbury's delivery and one item is extra thin lamb steaks, they looked interesting but I have no idea what to do with them other than make a hot sandwich with onions and mushrooms.

www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/sainsburys-ultra-thin-lamb-200g

Any suggestions?

Oxo01 · 29/04/2025 16:03
