Surely the disapproval rating wouldn’t be so high if everyone thought as the pro Labour on mn

@Parsley1234why is it on here it’s so adrift from general views

And if you took threads like these as your sample, the Tories' ratings would be through the roof 😂

Why on Earth do you think that people who don’t support Labour are all Tory voters? There are other parties and NO, I don’t mean Reform.

EasternStandard · 15/04/2025 10:22

How do you know how everyone would vote @SpringerSprockerCocker?

Labour seem to be fostering the anyone but them quite well. They’ve lost so much support whether it’s to opposition, Reform, Lib Dems, Greens or whoever.

It’s more a few on mn who think they’re going well and everyone thinks as they do.

Well forgive me but the Lib Dem references on here seem to amount to ridiculing Ed Davey for his pre-election stunts. Deep thinking indeed!

What do you mean by “on here”? At the time of the election there were lots of comments on various threads about the Lib Dem’s not supporting VAT on schools.

TheNuthatch · 15/04/2025 10:50

@SpringerSprockerCocker
The assumptions you have made regarding posters on this thread are not only rude and offensive, but completely inaccurate. Your comments ooze liberal elitism and I find it impossible to believe that no-one around you 'thinks like we do'. Maybe you're just not prepared to listen.

MN is a huge site which is very Labour leaning. This is one tiny thread out of thousands for those who disagree, however they vote, or have voted in the past. The rest of MN provides enough 'balance' thank you.

Fwiw, I voted Lib Dem at the last election, I also voted to remain. My business is struggling as a direct result of this government, so Boris Johnson's wallpaper isn't really top of my corcerns anymore. I have no idea how other posters voted because it's none of my business.

Number of UK workers on PAYE falls at fastest pace since height of COVID pandemic. 78000 in March.

Exactly the same tedious assumptions on remain v leave etc. Which is why I like this thread, I can see it’s possible those I want to chat with voted for either. It’s also not the point of thread, which is obvious in the title. It’s about the gov in power and policies which are impacting many.

Plenty of other threads to read if that topic isn’t what they want.

Yes

Felinnefine · 15/04/2025 14:00

With all this chattering about it, I’ve had a look on a ‘Starmer’ thread. It’s just like reading the Grauniad. But with gorgeous cat photos (these would improve the grauniad also).

So biased left it’s almost going to go full diameter. Although in some instances that’s where people who call themselves far left, already are.

Whilst this one is rather Guido Fawkes with random garden references. Which do you prefer?

You’ve mentioned gardening more than pretty much anyone else. Not sure why.

The Starmer thread does seem more your thing if you think that of this one.

I've just found and read the current Starmer thread too. Your username is not on there. Are you posting on this thread under a different name?

If you change your username, posting sticks with the one you had when you first posted on a thread so if it is a longstanding one, perfectly possibly.

I'll decide what's my thing, thank you. And for the zillionth time, I am not pro-Labour. Ideologically more Lib Dem than anything probably although I don't agree with everything they say either.

Have you got anything to say on topic, ie the Labour gov or are you more annoyed mn isn’t totally reflecting your view.

Idk why at this stage given the disapproval rating but some seem to think no one thinks critically of Labour. Plenty do and unless people filter to just cat threads they’ll come across some on here and elsewhere.

No, personally I don't look to MN for validation. However, some others do seem to need a little tribe.

Still nothing to say on the topic?

You seem more interested in making digs than anything else tbf. We’re having a chat and manage to do it pleasantly even if we’ve voted differently.

I prefer animals to humans, almost always. So photos of cats are always welcome afaic.

I do however much prefer this thread. I can’t bear supercilious sneeriness, which that thread, like the aforementioned newspaper, seems to specialise in.
