Mother’s Day next week - what gift would you love to receive?

Garden landscaping - but I'll be happy with a pot plant, which is much more likely (and reasonable)

Mindymomo · 22/03/2025 18:09

For anyone in my family and friends to keep well, I get a card from my adult sons, which I am grateful for. I’ve stopped worrying over presents etc.

Sunflowersanddaffodils · 22/03/2025 18:10

I would love to see both my sons on the day. Not bothered about presents.

PatsFruitCake · 22/03/2025 18:11

For my DM, who has dementia, to know who I am.

TheNinkyNonkyIsATardis · 22/03/2025 18:12

I've asked for a dried flower bouquet. It will last much longer.

TickingAlongNicely · 22/03/2025 18:13

I have bought myself a TARDIS bird feeder and given it to DH who will pass it onto the children.

Alwaystired2023 · 22/03/2025 18:13

A card would be nice, but I'm honestly not even fussed about that 🤣

BillyBoe46 · 22/03/2025 18:13

I want a day on my own

PaintYourAssLikeRembrandt · 22/03/2025 18:17

My 4 older dc usually chip in for something, but I've taken to specifically asking for things because they spend too much. Last year I ended up with a gift that cost more than £500, which is appreciated, but ridiculous.

This year I've asked for a lovely clock that I really like that costs about a tenner. And all, bar one, will be here for dinner over the weekend at some point , so that will be awesome.

DarkForces · 22/03/2025 18:19

We do 2 nights using a recipe box each week so I've increased this to 3 and chosen one I fancy for dh and dd to cook.

Iloveyoubut · 22/03/2025 18:20

My adult son is coming over to visit and stay over and we’re going to make dinner and watch the last 2 episodes of a show we love and I’m so excited and looking forward to it.

Buttonknot · 22/03/2025 18:22

Genuinely happy with a card, some chocs would be a bonus 😊

NewsdeskJC · 22/03/2025 18:27

I'd be happy with cards and some flowers from adult dc..
Never happens.
Am going out for lunch with elderly dmum and sister.

PeachesPeachesPeachesPeachesPeaches · 22/03/2025 18:27

I’ve asked for a cookbook, I’ve got the cookbook and an early edition of Wuthering Heights (DP got overexcited and showed me when he won the bid on eBay 😂)

PandaG · 22/03/2025 18:34

Adult son will have me round for dinner in a couple of weeks (I'm away over Mothering Sunday). Adult daughter is coming to stay for a few days in Easter hols, and will probably take me out for brunch - a card has already arrived. As spending time with adult kids is what I woukd like, I will be happy. I'd love to be able to send my own mother flowers and ring her up, but she's been dead for 11 years, so I will donate to Baby Basics charity in her memory instead.

LadyNairne · 22/03/2025 18:37

A homemade card from each of my children, a big bunch of daffodils and doing something nice but inexpensive together like a hike somewhere pretty.

I’d also like to see my Mum, but probably not possible due to distance. I’ll see her soon though. I’ll send her a thoughtful card, a bouquet or a plant, and we’ll have a nice chat on the phone. I also send MIL a card and flowers.

I’ll be avoiding restaurants and cafes as they are busy overpriced and feels artificial like Valentine’s Day. Would rather go the following week when all the Mums aren’t crammed in shoulder to shoulder!

Notaflippinclue · 22/03/2025 18:38

Asked for compost for my new raised bed

LighthouseTeaCup · 22/03/2025 18:38

A homemade coffee and walnut cake and a homemade card with a very silly joke or sweet message written inside

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 22/03/2025 18:40

I’ve asked for a cup of these

What would you like for Mother’s Day?
Ilovelowry · 22/03/2025 18:41

@FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee what on earth is that?

PurBal · 22/03/2025 18:47

Sleep

Wolfiefan · 22/03/2025 18:48

A hug.
Oh @PatsFruitCake that is so very hard. Hope you manage to find something good about the day.
