Mother’s Day next week - what gift would you love to receive?

A lie in. And for the court to approve the consent order for my divorce.

PickledOnionOverdose · 22/03/2025 19:49

A large box of Maltesers. But I won't get anything as I am not a mother.

2025willbemytime · 22/03/2025 19:51

I'm boggled at those who've asked for something but I suppose they've need requested to do so.

None of my kids live at home now, working and uni, so I'd love a text and card from them.

What I think will happen is one child will come home and surprise me, a second child might if they can, and the first will cook is a lovely meal. Better than last year when I had to give him news.

A message from my children saying ‘Happy Mothers’ Day’ (which will probably happen) but most of all for my daughter to have a lovely first Mother’s Day. I hope she will, her husband is pretty good at being thoughtful and lovely. I’ve had my turn, it’s her time now.

A lie in! I'd sell my soul for a lie in! A proper one,not with children jumping all over me and playing fucking pet foot with my feet while DP and me engage in a silent bloody battle of who can endure that torture longest to avoid being the one who gets up and starts getting them breakfast 😂

My 8 yo makes it he best most bonkers homemade cards so will look forward to that.

Utterlyexhausted · 22/03/2025 19:59

I’d love dinner cooked and crocks washed up with a lovely tea and a home made simple cake for after.

TheMissingLinkHasBeenFound · 22/03/2025 20:01

To not have to think about a single thing or make a single decision for other people

ssd · 22/03/2025 20:02

For my DM, who has dementia, to know who I am.

Flowers

A homemade card, some daffodils and lovely time with my family

I've asked for a dried flower bouquet. It will last much longer.

My DH got too excited and already gave me what he and my kids chose for me - Lego daffodils 😅

I've asked for a slice of toast, buttered and jammed by my children (age 2 and 4).

Flowersforcharlie · 22/03/2025 20:07

Just a card’ll do.

TheChosenTwo · 22/03/2025 20:12

I’ll be getting up early and going for a swim, will be home before any of the kids will be up!
they are teens/adults now.
I would like a card with a nice personal message in it and to not have to clear up after dinner (which dh will cook). I imagine those things will happen!

merryhouse · 22/03/2025 20:17

I'm fully expecting 2 cards, one possibly home-made

I'm mostly expecting several boxes of chocolates

I'm semi-expecting flowers, though S2 is going away for the weekend on Friday which complicates matters. S1 is a couple of hundred miles away so will probably message S2 in the next day or so asking him to organise something Grin

I'd like some scent, because that would save me having to take a trip now that the Body Shop in town has shut... but since nobody knows I need more scent that's unlikely to happen

Sportacus17 · 22/03/2025 20:24

A coffee and toast in bed , a homemade card.

Sortalike · 22/03/2025 20:27

I'd be super happy with a card, a bunch of daffodils, Tea and toast in bed and a cuddle from DD.

gandticenslice · 22/03/2025 20:45

I big hug from my teen boys would be a lovely treat 😊

Hihihello193 · 22/03/2025 20:54

Morphine pls

Cabbagefamily · 22/03/2025 20:57

A card, maybe flowers. I wouldn’t expect a gift at all.

StressyMcStressFace · 22/03/2025 18:06

Peace and quiet 🤫

Me too 😂

Normallynumb · 23/03/2025 00:00

The best present for me would be a visit from any/ all of my 3 adult DS’s.
I’m sure I’ll see them near the day, if not on the day.
I’d love a card.. I keep them

Printedword · 23/03/2025 00:03

A card and a few chocs

caringcarer · 23/03/2025 02:45

I usually get flowers from 1 DC. Taken out for a meal by another DC and asked what I want by third DC. I never know so suggest more flowers after first bunch are dead. Foster DC will probably get me chocolate.

SordidSplendour · 23/03/2025 02:46

The Lidl ice bath for my balcony (and an actual mother of my own)

DilemmaDelilah · 23/03/2025 10:08

Ideally, I would like an invitation to lunch from my daughter, but I know that won't happen - not least because she is a mother herself so it is her mother's day too.

So - I would LOVE to have a call from each of my children so that I know they are thinking of me at least. What will probably happen is that I will get a lovely card from my not local daughter and my local daughter will forget and a card may arrive late.
