BBC reporting he said the following:

Trump says that between the late 18th century and early 20th century the US was "proportionately the wealthiest it has ever been".

"So wealthy in fact," Trump continues, "we were collecting so much money so fast, we didn't know what to do with it."

Trump says that in 1913, income tax was placed on US citizens "for reasons unknown to mankind".

"They established the income tax so that citizens, rather than foreign countries, would start paying the money necessary to run our government," Trump says.

So is he basically saying foreign countries should be paying for the US government and not their citizens? Novel way to run a country

The Guardian is pithy;

"Donald Trump says the tariffs he has announced will generate “$6 trillion in investments” but experts explain that tariffs are actually paid for by American businesses and consumers. That would make it the largest “tax hike” in US history."

What is he blathering on about now? I don’t know how anyone can listen to him in person without falling asleep. I did enjoy the board. Why the hell did they not have a big screen and a clicker or some sort of clever graphics like the bbc has on election coverage. It just looked so amateurish.

He’s now on Russian casualties in Ukraine and how sad it is they’re dying….
