There's talk in the Canadian media about an independent Canadian nuclear deterrent. I wonder whether that might ultimately involve a cooperation with France (whose deterrent is independent) or the UK whose deterrent relies on American-supplied missiles but I imagine that's surely too much of a risk not to change in the next few years.)
