Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 15/03/2025 15:09

first time but I passed in a fairly remote place with not as many hazards and issues as people would have in a town/city.

MaryGreenhill · 15/03/2025 15:10

Ist attempt manual

IkeaMeatballGravy · 15/03/2025 15:11

I had the examiner who has a reputation for being nice and I passed first time with five minors. I reckon I would have failed if I had one of mean, picky ones.

Cattery · 15/03/2025 15:11

First time. Manual. I was 21

NorthernLiner · 15/03/2025 15:11

First. But this was in the 80s, and you just had the obligatory 10 lessons (usually a 17th birthday present).
No theory.

TofuFighters · 15/03/2025 15:12

I failed my first and then passed on my second attempt a week later. Back when you could book a test easily, not have to wait a year to get one!

Edited to add that it was in a manual.

ExplodingCarrots · 15/03/2025 15:14

2nd time . My first examiner was a really horrible rude man who instantly turned me into a nervous wreck . The second man was instantly lovely and I felt at ease .

MeAndMyGhost · 15/03/2025 15:14

I did one week intensive course with my test at the end = failed.

Second test I passed after another five or six lessons.

Justcallmebebes · 15/03/2025 15:15

First time, manual

Singhamh · 15/03/2025 15:25

What was everyone's manoeuvre?

OP posts:
Opoi · 15/03/2025 15:28

Parallel park

JoyousEagle · 15/03/2025 15:34

Failed the first time, passed the second. I failed for too much observation on my turn in the road (it went down as a major for hesitation I think). I only did it because my instructor said I really needed to make sure the examiner could see I was checking for hazards, maybe I took it too far haha

ghostbusters · 15/03/2025 15:47

Passed my theory first time, it had fairly recently been introduced when I was learning.
Passed the driving bit second time, manual car.
The first time the instructor could hardly write fast enough for the number of mistakes I was making 😂 I think I got 3 major errors, I was so nervous. Second test was almost the same route as the first one. I think I might have done parallel park and reverse round a corner.

Ditto

Iknowaboutpopular · 15/03/2025 16:31

Passed both theory and driving test first time. My manoeuvre was dreaded parallel park. Ugh. Awful. I'd been practising that very morning, fucked it up on the test but wasn't marked down for that, was instead marked down for not looking round enough during the manoeuvre.

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 15/03/2025 16:35

Passed it first time 💪 then lost it 3 years later 😏

4th manual car. Nervous wreck!

SplitEndHunter · 15/03/2025 16:43

1st. Manual.

i had to do a reverse bay park, emergency stop and reverse around a corner.

Pyjamatimenow · 15/03/2025 16:44

I’m still bloody trying

RedRiverShore5 · 15/03/2025 16:47

First, in the 80s so no theory test just a couple of questions at the end of test, no parking either, thank goodness, just 3 point turn and reverse round corner, iirc.

CobraChicken · 15/03/2025 16:55

2, in a manual.

First one I failed for being too slow/hesitant (can't remember the exact term) but in my defense it was absolutely torrential rain and it felt like my full speed wipers weren't going fast enough. Second attempt was a breeze.
