Loving the agony of the faux Conservative/Reform voters on MN today about the reforms to the NHS in England, especially the one about the loss of jobs. Not one Tory or Reform MP voted for the new Employment Act.

Absolutely they can restructure those staff elsewhere where we need more boots on the ground rather than where we have 5 pairs of boots doing the same walk.

I'd like to see the various Regulatory bodies looked at and their relationship/effectiveness with the sectors they regulate.

Gas prices falling below the price levels pre invasion, yet electricity goes UP 10%....

Having had a dispute with Octopus Energy, they both "appear" to work from the same hymn sheet.

I think I read that Farage has said that Reform won't be going anywhere if it is calling for mass deportations. However Reform "members" think it's the only way.

I'm quite happy for the UK to have 3,4,5 right wing fascist parties. The more the merrier.

The current system, in which people 25 and over on the standard rate of UC get £393.45 a month and those with a health condition get an additional £416.19, gives an incentive for people to say they can’t work – and get locked out of help and support – simply to get by financially.

Over the past five years, 67% of people on Universal Credit who have been through a WCA were considered LCWRA - a symptom of the assessment system pushing people to prove their inability to work for a more generous payout.

My bolding is the narrative that I have seen pushed by some (often suspiciously new) posters on MN. Vile.

I think the benefit bashing might start up again next week when the statement is finally made. But there is a lot of unease and some front benchers are very unhappy according to the Guardian.

They seem to have switched the focus from PIP/ESA to UC, though.

i don't use the app. Tried it and didn't like it. I use the mobile version on my phone.

If reform of the Benefits system is required, it needs to start with assistance for people to get into work... this means treating peoples ailments, support for MH, support for business to employ and job creation to help people get into the habit of work again.

Instead, its all stick, punish people, sure there is doubtless people gaming the system, there always has been but Starmer isn't targeting this, he is just going for a cost cutting, wide sweep of the brush policy.

Over so many things, i often feel i voted for the Tories on steroids & i'm still waiting for their plans (not actions) to reinstate NHS dentistry for all, not some re hash of the Tories policy ie x number of emergency appointments and a tooth brushing program.

also said if you can’t wash your own hair or lower body you won’t qualify but will if you can wash your torso.

If you can use a microwave you wont qualify - which being able to use a microwave is pretty pointless if you can’t do the other stuff required to get a meal to put into it!

pointy ds gets enhanced for both too. 4 years award this time round. He has a mixture of physical disability (degenerative neuro genetic) and ASD.

I was hoping / am hoping that they don’t start mucking around with physical disability criteria - it’s already hard enough to get mobility bit even if you have a physical difficulty.
