Which one would it be? Missing persons, unsolved murders or even random unexplained events.

Jill Dando

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 02/03/2025 06:43

Jill Dando think there was a program recently that linked her death to a Serbian hit.

Ben Needham as a pp said a digger driver had confessed on his death bed, but nothing found. Heartbreaking.

Keith Bennett & Madeline McCann and the Beaumont children - those poor children.

Didn’t know that Chaucer had disappeared. He’d led a fascinating life.

Never heard about the Oslo woman - sounds like a espionage, so young.

The Voynich Manuscript

Jewelanemone · 02/03/2025 06:50

What actually happened in the Dyatlov Pass incident.

LillyPJ · 02/03/2025 06:56

Madeleine McCann.

RichPetunia · 02/03/2025 06:56

I'd like to see what Ann Boleyn really looked like as her portraits were destroyed after her death. The one that we think is her, may not be. I'd like another painting!

Remaker · 02/03/2025 07:04

Another Australian case - William Tyrrell.

A bit niche probably but I’d like to know what happened to Alistair Wilson, the Nairn banker. I was wee when he was murdered but remember it so vividly. It has just been the 20 year anniversary and I feel so sorry for his sons growing up without their dad, not knowing why he was shot on their doorstep.

There is a BBC Sounds 6 part podcast on this. It’s worth a listen if you’re interested. I too find the case fascinating.

PurpleFlower1983 · 02/03/2025 07:26

Ben Needham and Madeleine McCann. The families deserve closure.

Superhansrantowindsor · 02/03/2025 07:30

Beaumont Children - absolutely heartbreaking.

Oncewassmith · 02/03/2025 07:33

A local mystery based on old graffiti asking 'who put Bella in the Witch Elm?'

TidyDancer · 02/03/2025 07:35

Claudia Lawrence. Her poor mum. Would love to know for her to be able to have some resolution and closure.

It seems to be a bit of an open secret who knows more in that case but no one in authority has ever been able to join the dots well enough. And the police fucked it entirely.

Bonzoman · 02/03/2025 07:37

Clydach murders. 3 generations of the same family murdered in 1 night. House was then set ablaze in order to try and hide evidence.
A man was convicted who has since passed away in prison but I just want to be sure if it was him or not. Lots of documentaries, books claiming it wasn't.
Aside from this definitely Claudia Lawrence.

Barleycat · 02/03/2025 07:37

The Beaumont Children

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/03/2025 07:39

Claudia Lawrence or Ben Needham.

NotMilanese · 02/03/2025 07:47

The Mumsnetter's disappeared ironing board.

JacqFrost · 02/03/2025 07:48

Yep Jill Dando would be a good one.

A recent one that is baffling is Jack O'Sullivan.

Amy Bradley

MaggieMistletoe · 02/03/2025 08:37

It's terrible if it's true about the digger driver and Ben Needham as the family would have suffered so much less in the long-term if only he'd spoken up. Its not like he would have been considered his fault so why on earth would he say nothing.

MarkingBad · 02/03/2025 08:37

Stirabout · 02/03/2025 02:11

I didn’t know he disappeared just that no one seemed to know how he died
There are thoughts he was killed by the Kings men etc

It would be even more poignant for me if he did disappear as my cat Chaucer disappeared in the late 80s storm 😞. I assume you don’t mean my cat though

Edited

He completely disappears from written record too.

Sorry about your cat

MaggieMistletoe · 02/03/2025 08:37

Ruth Wilson would be my choice. It's such a strange and baffling story. I think she must have been groomed by someone.

Artyblartfast · 02/03/2025 08:45

There's a couple of good podcast on some of these cases.

Bible John is probably the best true crime podcast I've heard. Amazing piece of work and not what you think. I think it gives a good resolution.

Bella in the witch elm also has a podcast. I've seen it come up on local folkloric group and they point out that it isn't Witch it's wytch and nothing to do with witch craft.

Crichel · 02/03/2025 08:46

Who murdered Sophie Toscan du Plantier? The longtime chief suspect, tried and found guilty in absentia in a French court, but against whom the Irish DPP did not bring charges for lack of evidence, is now dead, but it blighted the area for so long.

spicemaiden · 02/03/2025 09:10

Claudia Lawrence

The 'Answers for Claudia' podcast is fascinating - latest episode was released a few days ago
