Which one would it be? Missing persons, unsolved murders or even random unexplained events.

I'd go for Madeleine McCann. Not because I am particularly interested in what happened to her, but because her case has taken so much time and resources, and there are so many other missing children (and adults come to that) with heartbroken families. I'd like Madeleine's case put to rest.

Sweetloveandcheese · 02/03/2025 11:26

The twins who died in Aberdeen recently. They were Hungarian and were from a set of triplets.

OohKittens · 02/03/2025 11:31

Andrew Gosden, I often think of his family.

zingally · 02/03/2025 11:36

What happened to Madeline Mccann, Andrew Gosden and Jonbenet Ramsey.

Andrew in particular, I think of him quite often actually.

Madeleine.

I'd love closure on that one.

Claudia Lawrence

The 'Answers for Claudia' podcast is fascinating - latest episode was released a few days ago

I think one of the men she was having an affair with murdered her to silence her.

Chuchoter · 02/03/2025 11:48

Disappearance of Genette Tate in 1978 in Devon.
Body not found.

Disappearance of April Fabb in 1969 in Norfolk. Body not found.

Both girls had been riding their bicycles at the time of their disappearance. Genette was delivering newspapers and April was cycling to her sisters house.

Both disappeared in broad daylight in the early afternoon.

Robert Black, serial killer and paedophile, now deceased was a suspect in both cases but no charges brought.

Andrew Gosden. I think about him often.

Yes, that was a crazy one. Where could he have just up and left to with £200,knowing he was a homebird. I'm just speculating he could have been giving the 200 to someone in london who threatened him maybe, I don't know.

Stirabout · 02/03/2025 11:56

There are books and a biography
Honestly no mystery his life is well recorded as a wealthy man running around in court circles. he’s buried in Westminster.

Could he have been preyed on by someone he met online?

Suzy Lamplugh, and Claudia Lawrence.

She was the one who had loads of casual relationships. Sometimes even with married men. Maybe it was a revenge murder. Someone followed her on her way to the early shift just before 6am and whatever happened, happened. Was she ever found?

BelleDeJourRose · 02/03/2025 11:59

Yes, I was thinking that but in Wikipedia says that he wasn't really a sociable person and never really bothered with social media etc. But then again You don't know every single little thing going on in teens lives.

Yeah, I think this could be one too as well as what I posted above.

bookworm14 · 02/03/2025 12:02

What happened to Ruth Wilson.

RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway · 02/03/2025 12:03

It’s so hard to select just one case…

Nicola Payne was the young mother of an 8 month old baby boy. Like Claudia Lawrence and Suzi Lamplugh she was just going about her day and completely disappeared.

Like Claudia Lawrence the police had a pretty good idea who was responsible but were unable to convince a court.

A website dedicated to missing people, unidentified bodies and unsolved murders.

The disappearance of Alison MacDonald aged 19 in 1981 from Sonamarg in Kashmir. No trace of her has ever been found.

Absolutely terrible
I mean I remember something about this before as I watch murder mystery Mondays with bella or maybe it was Christina Randall on YouTube but this was a very sad story. Clearly, someone had an issue with the fact he didn't like Mussolini and the insurance salesman did lt or plotted it. All those children that they think escaped and are living their lives is sadly a fantasy. Those poor kids burned to their deaths.

DaffyDuk · 02/03/2025 12:16

I’ve always wanted to know if the lady who claimed to be Princess Anastasia really was who she said she was. I think her claim was disproven but i lost track of the story.

There is something compelling about the idea that a young girl escaped a killing spree.

Stigsmother · 02/03/2025 12:21

What happens after death (i strongly suspect nothing) 😉

MH370

This. 239 people died on a plane that suddenly disappeared and no one knows why.

BelleDeJourRose · 02/03/2025 12:23

I think John cannan is believed to have killed Suzy Lamplugh

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cannan

Cannan was the only suspect in the disappearance of Suzy Lamplugh, who had an appointment in July 1986 to meet a man calling himself 'Mr Kipper' and has not been seen since. In November 2002, the Crown Prosecution Service decided that there was insufficient evidence to charge him. That month Scotland Yard held a press conference at which, in a rare move, officers named Cannan as the man they believed murdered Lamplugh. Cannan said he knew who killed Lamplugh, and stated that this person is the same person responsible for the murder of Shirley Banks, of which he himself was convicted. DNA evidence showed Lamplugh had previously been in a car Cannan used at the time of her disappearance.
