Which one would it be? Missing persons, unsolved murders or even random unexplained events.

@countingthedays945
there has been some dna analysis that suggests it was Aaron Kosminski a barber who was investigated at the time.

The dna however came from a shawl which was said to have been owned by Catherine Eddowes and bought more recently at an auction.
Nothing has been verified legally although family members have asked for this.

It’s definitely not conclusive, there was a doc on TV a while ago about it

Very interesting. I'll look into it.

Ames Glover. Taken from the back of his father's car in 1990

Yes this one for me too, all very strange.

They say it may have linked to a planning application at the local pub for an extension...

Lalgarh · 02/03/2025 22:31

I'm trying to remember where I heard it, but there is a horrible disparity in the news coverage that certain missing person and even missing children cases get. If the kids is from an estate or working class or ethnic minority.

There was one teenaged girl that went missing from South London (Lewisham iirc) at the same time as Milly Dowler that barely got a mention

Atstritchsitchmitch · 02/03/2025 22:53

Making a murderer - did they really do it.

That case where the spy was put inside a bag.

There was a young girl that was murdered in the south west who had her throat slit - I think she was walking her dog. Who did it.

Did Michael Stone commit the Russell murders- not so much a mystery but doubt has always hung around that case.

Who Jack the Ripper was

Who killed the Princes in the Tower

my number 1 would be the Princes though

A local mystery based on old graffiti asking 'who put Bella in the Witch Elm?'

I grew up in Hagley and was going to post this.

It is mysterious indeed.

Likely just another VAWG cover up though. Although the missing hand is what is 'off' with that theory.

The biggest mystery on the planet is cattle mutilations

It's been going on all over the world for over fifty years and there has not been one witness, footprint or tyre mark

Animals laying dead in the snow, organs removed with laser precision, no blood at the scene and still no footprints. Sometimes the animal has had all the blood drained from it even. In some cases the animal has had it spine removed

A 2,000lb bull with the side of its head cut off. No scavengers EVER touch the body, all of the parts that scavengers go for are always left untouched

There is not a single explanation for the tens of thousands of cases

Give me a bigger mystery

Yes I’m aware the rumours of them being killed or at least no longer alive were started by Henry vii.
Id just like to know what happened to them
Murdered ? If so by whom
Died naturally
Not murdered and so just disappeared ? so what happened to them. Were they Pirkin and Warbeck ?
Id love to go back in time and find out some of these mysteries

Yeah I wonder about that one too it's feasible drunken men could have fallen into the canals after casual sex buy it's also feasible a persistent killer could have been looking out for drunken men to push them in.

They would have to be exceptionally lucky to have a 100 percent kill rate with such a haphazard method though. Big risk that the person will manage to get out and go to the police.

Wiaa · 03/03/2025 07:16

Patrick Warren and David Spencer.

AnAlpacaForChristmasPleaseSanta · 03/03/2025 08:26

@Wiaa I have never understood why they didn't/don't get more coverage. I suspect if they had been two girls it would be different.

Controversial I know……….

Too many to just choose one.

Patrick Warren and David Spencer.

There was a muck raking documentary with Emilia Fox (she plays a pathologist in silent witness, so of course she's qualified to front this) and prof David Wilson who is actually qualified and on Lots Of These Things that named a likely suspect.

Hinterkaifeck Murders for sure!

Maura Murray (missing person).
Such a tricky mystery and I've been following it for years but there is rarely any new information. Just so much to unpick from the whole situation; it could have a number of outcomes.

WhineAndWine1 · 03/03/2025 17:47

@sorechalfonts the hunt for Peter Tobin it's on BBC Scotland starting Tuesday at 10

FKAT · 03/03/2025 18:03

I think the Manchester pusher is a lot of very different incidents, many of which are years apart, that have become tied together by their (quite wide) location. I watched the C4 doc a few years ago and all the stories were interesting but quite random. It's mostly going to be drunks falling in on the way home with a few possibly more sinister incidents. I lived in Hereford and the walk along the Wye taking people out of town after the pub has had plenty of drink related drownings over the years.
