... it's ingrained into your family vocabulary?

This morning: "Porridge today Gromit.
It's Tuesday".

Other favourites: "Where's the salad? Where's the salad?"

"That'll do Pig, that'll do..."

We have so many in our family!

Lots from Spinal Tap

How much more black can it be? The answer is none, none more black.

I'm going to retire and open a chapeau shop

This one goes up to eleven

Wishimaywishimight · 26/02/2025 12:36

Another from 'Semi-detached' - Lee and his ex-wife being interviewed for a newspaper article on the ex-wife (she was a local councillor or something of that nature);

Journalist: "So why did you 2 split up?"
Ex-wife (after hesitating): "We wanted different things"
Journalist to Lee: "What things did you want?"
Lee (after a very long pause): "I like watching telly"
Ex-wife's new husband (in the background): "Christ"
😆

"I demand to have some booze"

The finest booze and cake

Often said by me at around 8pm on a Friday, and somewhere on the approach to Tebay Services

Due to mobility problems neither DH or I can move quickly. So if a delivery arrives there is always a shout of "Run Forrest Run. "

Oh wow!
I saw that advertised but I wasn't keen on the film. Not sure if it's still on, will have a look.

I saw AP on stage years ago in the guise of Paul (and Pauline) Calf. So good.

A wafer thin mint?
Where is that even from? I say it all the time.

It’s the Mr Creosote sketch from Monty Pythons The Meaning of Life

Butter the toast. Eat the toast. Shit the toast. God life’s relentless.

I accidentally ran to Windsor.

"What you sometimes think you should do is what you should do."

Just a few of the many gems from Peep Show which get regularly quoted in my house.

The patron saint of quality footwear.

It's in Dobly

I had zero interest in the film, I don't think I even watched it all through but the stage show was utterly brilliant, I laughed out loud throughout! SC was brilliant, got a standing ovation at the end - he played 4 roles in the play which was 1 more than Peter Sellers did in the movie.

I'm in Dublin and it was on here a couple of weeks ago. if you get a chance to see it I would really recommend it (as a Steve Coogan fan) - don't let the movie put you off.

@ThePoshUns me too - we work in music and some of it is pretty accurate - especially the 'bedrooms' situation in hotels on tour and indeed
many bands have a 'Janine'
