Someone might need to explain globes to him and that the big beautiful ocean isn’t the only way to get to USA from Russia.

Talking of tapes, Putin seems to always be smirking when he's in Trump's company. Guess he's seen that mushroom dick in glorious technicolour.

I heard those comments on the radio and was convinced that was Putin who said it.

When it's hard to tell the difference between Trump and Putin, then the world is seriously wrong.

heldinadream · 19/02/2025 18:57

I hardly post at the moment because I've got shit going on in my life but I just have to let this out somewhere that I don't think I've ever felt such a depth of loathing and disgust for a politician as I do right now for DT over, well, everything he's doing but specifically for the things he's saying about Ukraine and Zelenskyy.

He's a disgusting toad, excrement on humanity's boots.
I hope Europe as a whole can step up and stand up to him.

BustingBaoBun · 19/02/2025 19:12

Of course Trump refuses to criticise Putin and instead says that Zelenskyy started the war.

His latest tirade about Zelenskyy is absolutely disgusting. It's personal, rude, nasty and full of out and out lies.

The garbage coming out of Trump’s mouth right now is a perfect example of the spoilt little rich kid that he still is underneath the bluster. Zelensky said no to his ridiculous offer of taking 50% rare earth minerals in exchange for no security guarantees AND called him out on his ridiculous “Ukraine started it” comments. That’s the equivalent of the mean boys taking their ball home and refusing to play, so now Trump is going to tantrum until someone placates/distracts him.

I am trying to keep my sense of humour by imagining John Cleese when Trump tries to claim Ukraine started the war.

The Guardian's take:

"All the effort Kyiv had expended in wooing the White House, combining flattery with bribery and a share of Ukraine’s mineral wealth, imploded in minutes when Volodymyr Zelenskyy broke the fundamental rule of the new global reality: he told the truth about Donald Trump.
All America’s allies, the great majority of Republican leaders who have bowed to him, and a good number of his own cabinet, know full well that Trump is trapped in a disinformation bubble, but Zelenskyy said it out loud at a press conference on Wednesday.
In this new world where the foreign policy of the most powerful country on Earth has been rapidly reorganised around the fragile ego of a sullen and resentful old man, you might as well launch missiles at America’s eastern seaboard as utter a few words of rebuke."

If Prince has said this, he must have support as I can't see him acting alone.

I'm extremely worried about the path Trump is dragging us all down.

Mike Pence

I don’t have a great deal of time for Pence but this is a man who Trump’s supporters previously called to be lynched so there is at least some courage in sticking his head above the parapet.

As was Boris, though I seem to recall he gave up his US citizenship? Not sure if he can go back on that or of it affects his “rights”.

In fairness to Pence, he did grow that spine a few years ago. It was what nearly got him lynched.

Downing Street have pushed something out, though it’s still mealy mouthed in referring to US-led efforts.

True, perhaps if he’d grown it a bit earlier (like 3 years) they could have invoked the 25th?! <wishful thinking>

I suspect he was stronger to Zelenskyy than this would let on. I get the sense Starmer for right or wrong is hoping to position himself a the link between the US and Europe. Bearing in mind he’s visiting Washington next week he won’t want to make himself persona non grata in advance.

Talkinpeace · 19/02/2025 20:42

Xi must be pissing himself laughing

RafaistheKingofClay · 19/02/2025 20:43

Can’t help thinking that Trump is a bully and it would be interesting to see what would happen if all the leaders stood up by forcefully condemning his words rather than weasely worded statements.

Standing by Ukraine is not the same as calling Trump out directly. It’s not like Trump is a fan of Starmer’s anyway.

countrygirl99 · 19/02/2025 20:48

I could almost understand it of Trump was a great orator but every time he opens his mouth he sounds like the drunk bore you always try to avoid at the pub.
