'Sense and Sensibility' is on BBC2 and my sis in law and I have been half watching it, whilst catching up and also MN-ing 😄

Both big fans of Emma Thompson here.

I've had the pleasure of working with her and she is incredibly lovely. No one is perfect (and no one can possibly know what an individual is like from seeing them in a film etc) but my personal experience of working with her is that she is a wonderful person, humble, kind and generous with her time.

That’s so nice to hear! I’ve never met her in rl but I think she represents middle aged women on screen really well.

I do like her but I love Sophie Thompson, her sister. She is just wonderful in Detectorists.

It's not okay to block streets and prevent people from getting to work (or worse, preventing them from getting to medical appointments) and then swan off back to your own job, which is spectacularly well paid and not actually necessary to do on both sides of the Atlantic! If she feels that strongly, perhaps she needs to pick a continent and work exclusively there.
It's very much 'do as I say, not as I do'!

I don't hate ET - I don't know her. She may well be lovely on a one to one basis. But a person can be charming and lovely and still be a massive hypocrite.

I find her pretentious

overall slightly annoying

She is another insufferable luxury leftoid who thinks women can have a penis.

I love her! One of those actors who elevates anything she is in.

I can't stand her! But it's mostly due to jealousy. She's a fantastic actress; She is wealthy enough to buy herself diamonds and keep herself looking wonderful; She has a degree from Cambridge (or is it Oxford?). And her dad rewrote the scripts and did all the voices for The Magic Roundabout.

I am working class, would have loved to be an actress but couldn't afford to pursue it. And my dad was a layabout. She is a total bitch.

On the face of it she sounds like having the perfect life. But she's faced struggles like most of us: depression, miscarriages, sexual harassment, adultery by her then husband....she has money but she's worked hard to get it
