Worth £6million, apparently. The prizes are getting more and more valuable.

I haven't had a chance to have a good look yet, but will be back with my thoughts when I've done so.

What's the verdict, Omazers?

I saw that for sale around this time last year and it was on the market with another property and you could buy both for £6 million. The other is still for sale for £3 million.

I’d rather have this one!

How is it worth 6m when the estimated monthly rental income is only £5,500
vs the Bath house worth 4m with an estimated monthly rental income of £10,000 to £12,000.
Would still love to win either. With all of these houses I would live in for 6 months and then sell as couldn't afford the upkeep.

Well i am convinced the monthly rental figure is waaaaay off. To rent a tiny property of high quality in this area it is £1500-2000 for a 3/4 day stay. For that, in that location, with that view 3-4k a week at least!

Have a look at the floor plan. The third bedroom is small. It's not a lot of house for £6m. Maybe it has a lot of land.

The third bedroom is 16’5” x 11’11”. I’d say that was still pretty big - but accept it looks small against the other rooms on the floor plan.

Arlanymor · 16/01/2025 20:17

The number of bedrooms is the sticking point for me too, also odd that there aren’t any images of the entertainment room. I think the location is gorgeous - I live by the sea and honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. Has a bit of a USA clapboard feeling to it somehow too. Rip up the tennis court and replace it with a rugby pitch and then maybe I could see myself there a bit more!

SporadicMincePieMuncher · 16/01/2025 20:47

Yes that was my first thought. Coastal East Anglia is the first place in the UK predicted to be under water with rising sea levels, and whilst it has a lovely view across the.. (watermeadows? broads?) it's got absolutely no defence against a slightly higher tide than usual. it even shows water sitting on the (watermeadows/broads/whatever they are) - that type of land is there to flood to try to protect properties further in land! Bloody stupid place and way to build a property unless it's got some magic flood proofing that's not initially obvious.

I like it very much, but I'd sell up and ship out pronto. Possibly on an actual ship if I was unlucky!

bettytaghetti · 16/01/2025 21:03

Interesting that it's almost across the road from a previous Omaze house. At least that one was a little more elevated. Another one that can't believe they think it's worth £6m!

bettytaghetti · 16/01/2025 21:04

@SporadicMincePieMuncher it's the saltwater marshes you can see.

ThisOldThang · 16/01/2025 21:04

I'm quite familiar with that part of the country and would consider moving into the house if I won it.

I think the views are amazing and The Wash has really impressive low tides with the sky reflected off the miles of wet sand/mud.

Only 3 bedrooms is a bit of a let down, but even the smallest bedroom is actually the same size as our large master bedroom (1930's semi).

The garages are begging out for a conversion into a granny flat / guest accommodation and the Entertainment Room could be converted into another two ground floor bedrooms.

It's my favourite Omaze house in quite a while.

Sunblocker · 16/01/2025 21:12

It is lovely but it’d be greedy of me to win this when I am clearly going to win the Bath house.
I’ve actually convinced myself. I have big plans for my orangery.

Chicheguevara · 16/01/2025 21:12

Hmm, Blakeney. Not for me. Use to live close by. Full of bloody tourists all summer and it can get a smidge damp and flooded.
If I won it, I would sell it. It’s an expensive area but not sure it’s £6 million expensive.

Mirabai · 16/01/2025 21:21

I only have eyes for the Bath house - if I won that I’d be happy forever.

Most ridiculously gorgeous kitchen + and that pantry! By far the most beautifully decorated of any of the OMAZE houses - the interior, the garden, the view. Ok it’s on a main road in in the flood plain but I don’t care.

Nellieinthebarn · 16/01/2025 22:18

I can't see how its worth 6 mil. If I won it I would be happy to flog it for 4, that would be plenty for me. I might harvest some of the furniture though.

Eggegggoose · 16/01/2025 22:24

Purplebunnie · 16/01/2025 19:08

Sorry but I'm winning the Bath one, I'll let you come and stay though

Sorry to disappoint but I’m winning the Bath one. Packing my stuff up now ready to move in 😌

InSpainTheRain · 16/01/2025 22:40

It's also got a strange bathroom arrangement for bedrooms 2 and 3. Known as a Jack and Jill bathroom. It's ok but 6 mil!?

Waffle19 · 16/01/2025 22:42

I love north Norfolk so I’d love this one, would make a great holiday home for us. Albeit expensive to run the pool etc I imagine. Would love to live there but in reality wouldn’t be possible as far away from everything

gmgnts · 16/01/2025 22:45

I love it! I want it very badly. I have a season ticket for the Omaze houses so maybe this time my luck will be in. Unfortunately, Norfolk is a long way from where I actually live, but I'm willing to make the sacrifice and move to that gorgeous house 😊

fashionqueen0123 · 16/01/2025 22:48

I didn’t realise people actually paid for these! I just thought they were scammer ads.

When do they pick a winner? When they’ve made double ?!

DorothyStorm · 16/01/2025 22:54

ChanelBoucle · 16/01/2025 18:24

It doesn’t tempt me in the slightest. Yes it’s lovely, but it’s a lot of upkeep and to me the landscape looks kind of beautiful but desolate. Probably because I’m used to hills around me! It’s also a long way from me so I’d never go there. I can’t imagine making much from it as a holiday house because a house that essentially sleeps five people is not going to have a great rental to value ratio.

So I’ll pass this month I think. I’m still reeling from the Lake District house 😔

Me too.

Me too.

I was tempted by the Lake District house. Why are you still reeling? Because you didn’t win it or some other reason? I never buy a ticket as I always think it could end up an expensive headache to get rid of them. Would never be able to afford the upkeep.

commonground · 16/01/2025 23:47

I can easily believe it is 6m. Blakeney is super-expensive, and it has land, but the vernacular is all wrong. It should have been more Norfolk flint and yes, less Southfork. Also, I love a tennis court, but that hardstanding carved out of the precious marsh makes me worry for the eco-system that has been tarmacked there.

RainbowsAreNotTheOnlyFruit · 17/01/2025 00:10

Wasn’t this built by the same guy that ‘donated’ the previous Norfolk house to Omaze (‘Bliss’ Blakeney)? The air bnb party house one that was on the market for ages & still didn’t sell? If this new one is the one I’m thinking of (between Morston & Blakeney on the creek side of the coast road) it’s in a lovely location but there was a lot of fuss locally about it being built on or adjacent to an SSI. It’s one of 2 on the plot. Not sure where they got a £6 mill valuation from!

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 17/01/2025 00:23

CoffeeBeansGalore · 16/01/2025 18:16

It's Southfork!! (Dallas for those old enough to remember 😁)

That was my very first thought too!

I've got the flipping theme tune buzzing in my head now when I should be bobbing off! I couldn't live there, it would become a permanent ear worm! 😁

Phthia · 17/01/2025 00:32

I thought Omaze houses were virtually always problem houses that someone was having trouble offloading? Certainly I can see why they'd struggle to find anyione willing to shell out £6 million for this one.

I like a pool, but for that sort of money it needs to be larger, and have the facility to be covered so it can be used all year round.

Righttherights · 17/01/2025 00:38

I took one look and thought it would flood or be under water soon with global warming!
Also Omaze have taken money and not given me all entries I paid for the for the Bath house. On about email 25 and they don’t get the problem!

PlayingDevilsAdvocateisinteresting · 17/01/2025 04:57

I wonder how they can ask that much for just a pretty 2.5 bedroomed house? I wonder if it stands within the Sandringham Estate, with the Prince and Princess of Wales as their next-door neighbours? If so, I wonder how much longer is left on the leasehold?

I think that maybe I do too much wondering...?
