Lost - the TV series from yonks ago

Is this worth getting into? I've started the first episode as I could do with some pure escapism but don't want to waste time!

This was my take on it too.

Never watched it but seen multiple people saying the ending was shite.

Oh me too! BEN! 😍 especially in the early seasons when he appeared powerful and mysterious!

(I liked the same actor in Person of Interest too, no idea what it is about him!)

I loved Lost but it errr 'lost' its way a bit in the last couple of seasons IMO. Until then it was great.

Worst ending in the history of worst endings.

I am still angry at the hours I wasted on it that I will never get back. It felt so utterly lazy, like they'd thought of this brilliant show with so much intrigue and mystery and then oops they hadn't actually figured out how to end it. So let's just go with the shitest most lazy ending. God I hadn't realised how angry I still am 😂

I absolutely loved Heroes - Sendhil Ramamurthy, who must be one of the most beautiful men I have ever seen, was a bonus - but it sort of meandered off into blandness for me. I did read that the creators were originally a bit sceptical of it achieving real popularity and success, and threw every idea they had at the first series and after that were scrambling a bit.

Yes even with having the ending explained I look back and distinctly get the impression there was no planned overall story arc…..that they were making it up as they went. Trying to shoehorn stuff together. It could have been better and I think would have been better if it had just been simpler, too many subplots. Some of which just seemed to get dropped.

I really got into it and was really engrossed. But the ending was really disappointing.

Yes! The powerful and mysterious leader. That was hot!

Michael Emerson is a brilliant actor. Ben's downfall/redemption was joyous to watch. As was his relationship with his daughter.

I saw the first two seasons of Person of Interest but sadly didn't keep up with it. Something I definitely need to go back to!

poi is a good show overall especially the first 3 seasons are the main ones for me

It's worth watching as long as you can accept that the plot doesn't make sense.

I don't want to ruin it for people who haven't watched it but I guessed the gist of the whole thing . I don't think it was that complex tbh .

I also think they made it up as they went along and didn't have an ending when they started

FROM which is by the same writers is pretty much the slaw story and I thought it ended so well after the first series. Now it seems it's back so hopefully they won't ruin that too!

I loved it but do feel they dragged it out for longer than they should. I'll never understand the ending. But I don't regret watching it.

There’s going to be a 4th season of FROM as well. Not until 2026 though.
I personally thought season 3 was the strongest yet. But it’s definitely getting a lot weirder now.

I agree Lost wasn’t that complicated at all at the end. The issue is so many people misunderstood the ending and decided it was something totally different (the thing that the writers denied it was early on so everyone was ranting that they lied).

Like others have said. It’s starts off strong. But after a few series the writers admitted they didn’t know what the ending was so I thought I’m not bothering to carry on with this. It got really weird and the writing was poor for the last few series.
Its a shame because it could have been so much better. I’d say don’t waste your time.
