A very nosey question but if you receive a bonus in work what is your job and how much is your bonus?

I work in retail so I never get bonus- it's not a thing for shop floor staff I don't believe

not only did i have to work 12 hour shifts on christmas day and boxing day, i had to contribute money to wear 'non uniform' and the only gift i got was a box of heros passed round the office!

Cosycover · 29/12/2024 22:20

Nope. I work for a charity so the wages aren't great and bonuses don't exist.

GoingUpUpUp · 29/12/2024 22:20

private sector and linked to company performance. It’s up to 90% of my salary. I do find it a bit staggering tbh.

All staff receive a % bonus of some sort depending on their role.

These threads make you feel proper shit if you work in the public sector. 🙄

I'm public sector and I get bonus.

It's "up to" 35% of my salary split 50:50 based on personal and business targets.

On average I'd say I've had 25-30%.

Yes I'm senior with a fair bit of responsibility.... along the lines of if things go wrong I could get sacked.

I can't say what I do or what type of public sector department though as it's the only one of its kind and I'm the only one who does my job 😂

Retail too op. We got a bonus until a couple of years ago, then they stopped it. Tight gits.

OrangeQualityStreetAreTheBest · 29/12/2024 22:31

This year I got 0.93% of my annual salary.
It sounds shit, but I'm in my 40s and this is the first job I've had with a bonus so I'm not complaining.

No.

No I don't, work for public sector, local council which never gives bonuses.
Previously worked for charities, schools, BT and government department also no bonuses.
DH works for a IT company and sometimes gets bonuses but not always and amount varies quiet a bit. Depends on profit and is paid around end/start of financial year.
My brother and SIL work in banking and always get generous bonuses though DB will moan if it's not much as last year lol.
Friends husband works in construction and also often but not always gets a bonus.
Years ago my BF got the equivalent of her monthly salary paid in Novembers salary as a Xmas bonus, I was very jealous!!
