I don’t like any of them. I’m politically hornless but seeing this turd getting more and more popular would actually make me leave the country.

Noblegiraffe do you have any views on Nigel Farage’s other policies or are you just obsessed with hunting?

I'd like to have views on his education policies but he doesn't seem to have any bar 'a patriotic curriculum'. I have zero confidence in his ability to even start to address the crisis in schools as he appears to be totally unaware that there is one. I guess he can't soundbite his way out of a critical shortage of teachers, or falling down schools.

DuncinToffee · 28/12/2024 22:20

LutherVandrossessuit · 28/12/2024 22:12

Ones that would make people vote for them?

Or we, mostly the media, could just keep asking Reform details about their policies and funding and not pamper to their soundbites.

Farage doesn't do well when pressed on Brexit for example

38thparallel · 28/12/2024 22:18

The real issue driving the anti fox hunting lobby is that it is seen as a "posh rich" activity largely by urban left wing liberals not any genuine concern for the foxes.

Of course it is - as is evident by remarks like ‘ridiculous outfits’. It’s always been a class war issue - if that’s not the case why aren’t hunt saboteurs sabotaging factory farms?
Also, why is fishing not banned too?

My mistake, this is actually a really cool outfit of the people.

No, you've got to get the mainstream parties offering something the electorate want. Currently they aren't - Labour are dreadful. No vision or leadership. You've got to raise the bar. Name calling Reform voters racists and far right isn't working.

I guess Nigel shelled out for his outfit using the money he gets from being paid for making racist videos on Cameo?

Nigel f#cked the UK with Brexit and now he's riding in on his white donkey to save the country?
Make this make sense?
It's like hiring arsonist to be a firefighter.

You don't know do you?

Ringpeace · 28/12/2024 22:36

SassK · 28/12/2024 22:11

Both these responses illustrate the hysterical bullshit I'm describing. The majority of Farage's propositions wouldn't make it into policy. Perhaps you should credit his supporters with a little more savvy?

I think there are many akin to myself, people who're just fed up of humouring sanctimonious bores who're too thick to grasp that their 'with me or against me' conduct is entirely antithetical to broad/liberal thinking.

"Hysterical Bullshit".

Those could be words from the great Michael Rosen's' Fascism: I sometimes fear.'

The frog is boiling.

But you do you.

Yes he probably did - but at least he paid for them himself.

So pamper to them and don't upset them by calling out right wing rhetoric?

The Farage riots were just them being unhappy?

What is Reform's vision?

Oh, so the racist Cameo is just fine then?

Why is a millionaire taking money to say racist things, by the way?

I'm a huge Farage fan and I sincerely hope he's the next PM. Out country is becoming an absolute shit hole.

I kind of agree . Tories and labour are useless and we need change . Nigel also has a personality unlike beige Keir who seems well out his depth .

38thparallel · 28/12/2024 22:49

I have no idea - you should ask him.
I didn’t watch I’m a Celebrity - maybe you should take up your objections with the TV company.

Purplevelvetshoes · 28/12/2024 22:51

I honestly can’t believe no one is looking past the smoke screen of Farage and not looking more closely at Richard Tice.

Farage has always been a pressure valve - people turn to him when they are beyond frustrated. Farage would cross over to US in a heartbeat if money was there. He is just the front man. Yeah he owns most of the shares - but that’s just a business stance from him.

But Tice will actually be running it and he is a very nasty man. It really isn’t Farage we should be worried about.

u3ername · 28/12/2024 22:51

The problem with democracy is if you have uneducated population you get the power hungry clowns talk their way into government. We all know what the magic words are and no, the other parties will never promise these things even if they know they'd win them the votes (because they are hard to carry through in a global world, they are not the real issue for the success of the country, they are not ethically right).

We either educate people fast or try something new - a technocracy?

You don’t need to watch I’m a celebrity (I don’t) merely follow the news?

No concerns about the fact that he didn’t say ‘no’ when someone said they’d pay him £70-odd quid to film a racist message and instead taking the money and saying the racist thing?

LutherVandrossessuit · 28/12/2024 22:57

Get the mainstream parties to offer a vision the electorate can buy into. The reason Reform has risen in popularity is because Labour/Conservative/Lib Dems aren't offering anything attractive - no leaders of vision, no real competence in Government, no 'taking the electorate with them'. People could stand short term pain if they see light at the end of the tunnel. There is no light. Nothing is getting better, there isn't a leader in Government, there's nothing for the electorate to 'get behind'. Reform are offering an alternative to the woeful performance of all mainstream parties. You can't just criticise and insult Reform without providing voters a better proposition. By all means high light the shortcomings of Reform but surely we must expect far far better from all our political parties?

This rhetoric about uneducated people needs to stop.

It’s just not true. People like you, Labour & Tories need to recognise the concerns genuine people have - because this bullshit talk is driving people towards Reform. I do not want Reform in but we are at a precipice of severe social unrest because of the complete denial of some serious issues.

Yes I agree. We absolutely do need better from the other parties. Tories fucked it now Labour have fucked it with crippling just about everyone.

Reform is gaining voters fast

@DuncinToffee

"So pamper to them and don't upset them by calling out right wing rhetoric?

The Farage riots were just them being unhappy?

What is Reform's vision?"

OK let me help out then.

Firstly the riots were not started or organised by Farage or Reform. Referring to them as the "Farage Riots" is simply untrue unsubstantiated left wing angry rhetoric which undermines any rational argument from the get go.

Secondly having a concern on levels of immigration is completely separate to racism. To equate the two as the same thing is ill informed wrong and alienates ordinary voters.

Thirdly fascism in its desire to silence dissenting views and state ownership of the economy is actually more prevalent now in left wing politics than it is in the right wing.

He also has a pint of draught bitter - rather than his preference of G&T or wine - on the go whenever cameras are around when he's glad-handing a load of cross-eyed yokels in a pub.

Cross eyed yokels??? Really? FFS
Just vile

i thought there were laws about hate speech. Why hasn’t he been arrested if he’s been saying racist things?

OnlyHereForTheChristmasBoard · 28/12/2024 23:08

He needs to spend more time in Edinburgh and Glasgow. A lot more time. The locals can get to appreciate his personality and charm and he can explain the many benefits of Brexit to them. It'd be a win-win.
