@NotMyFinestMoment I am so so sorry 😞

MsWillis · 28/12/2024 05:01

I had a bad dream, I was still with my ex husband, really horrible dream. Too much alcohol over the last few days. I'm done with that now.

Areolaborealis · 28/12/2024 05:02

Not tired due to lack of physical activity. Haven't left the house since Christmas eve due to DC's fear of dogs (shaking, screaming, risk of running out into traffic to avoid dog). Everywhere we go there are dogs. Can't even go for a walk because there might be dogs. I don't drive so we have to take the bus but DC is anxious in case there's a dog. Agreed to give DC a break from the stress over Christmas holidays when we don't have to go anywhere but its a bit isolating.

GP hopeless as there are no children's outpatient psychological services apparently. Paediatrician's words of wisdom were "some kids don't like dogs".

Don't know what to do.

Gentle thoughts to everyone with sad news or worrying issues on their mind Flowers

Susiesoozie · 28/12/2024 05:13

Snoring. Staying at friends' so can't move either as there's a house full

NotQuiteUsual · 28/12/2024 05:16

Ddog who is a massive Newfoundland, decided to climb into bed and lay on me. Then took ages to settle. She's now snoring away and I'm wide awake.

Rowgtfc72 · 28/12/2024 05:31

Perimenopause.
I get up for work everyday at 340am. We only get Christmas Day off. My brain is a day out and thinks it's Friday!
Sat on the sofa with a cuppa watching Krampus with the sleeping sausage dog snoring quietly next to me.
I like peace and quiet, dh and 17yr old dd are full on. This is my recharging time🙂

Yes! I was misdiagnosed by GP as congestion and an audiologist said it was wax. Finally saw an ENT that said I had severe/profound loss in that ear and there was nothing he could do. Plus I'd probably never know the reason why. I did have a CT to rule out tumours. For the most part I tune it out (though it's always there) it's just really getting to me. I sorry it happened to your daughter. Seems to be more common now with links to COVID etc. GPs are really lacking in this area too. If I had of been diagnosed earlier steroids may have helped.

Have you tried white sound generators in your ears? My husband has misophonia and he uses those. I believe tinnitus sufferers do as well.

Thanks for your reply. Most nights I sleep well especially when I'm busy at work (I'm a teacher). I think it's because I'm off for Christmas and I had a few drinks etc it just really exasperated my tinnitus and anxiety. The more you tune into it the more your brain turns it up. I did try white noise before but I preferred the quiet as external noise makes my tinnitus louder. I also think this is me now so my brain has to get used to it however my brain does change it. It's multilateral and sometimes there's a horrible high tone over the buzzing that is very hard to cope with. Think I managed 3 hours and now have a soft play birthday party to go too. 🙈 Hoping last night was a blip because I mostly cope ok with it. Routine, eating, drinking etc is all over the place during the holidays.

If you're in the North West Brokholes nature reserve in Preston is dog free

Woke at 01.30 for a wee. My eyelids are drooping now so I hope, and think, I will go back to sleep.

I do hope you get the child sharing business sorted, op, I can imagine how difficult that can be.

Thank you. I hope you're able get managed to nod off.

It's tough (child arrangements). Father says I want (vague want)...ok so how and when does that work/when...well I want (the vague want). Mediation going now where. Court first thing in the new year. Happy 2025 to look forward to 😔

Looks like I'm the last one standing.
Or lying down I should say.
Have had a perfectly terrible sleep waking up every couple of hours and now in 2 hours I have to get up for the day.
Thanks OP for starting this thread.
I hope you'll be feeling better soon. Sorry to hear about your unproductive day.
When you can't sleep it's really amazing to be able to connect with others who can't sleep.
To everyone who can't sleep because they're not feeling well or are in pain or their children are sick or they can't sleep for having to listen to snoring or having a very hard time, I hope everyone will feel better soon.
The nights are long when you're supposed to be sleeping and you can't sleep but it's comforting to know there are others that are awake also.
Hope everyone will get at least a couple of hours sleep.
I think I'll just get up and have a cup of tea....

I think you have summed this up perfectly.

I don't often post on threads, even more rarely start one. But sometimes it's nice just to reach out to people. We are all going through something - and just to have a bit of moral support, for whatever it's for, is lovely.

I too hope all of you struggling to get some rest had some and wishing you all the best.
