Apologies if there is already a thread on this but I love hearing about gifts you are excited to give!

My mum asked for a book and I managed to get a signed copy, which I don’t think she’ll expect.

My son asked for one of three Pokémon things. I got him all three.

Not a great year, but I got dp a book about Pompeii because we will be there in 5 weeks. I think he will love that.

dudsville · 24/12/2024 21:20

I got my friend some really great socks! Sounds silly, was a stocking stuffer, he was suppose to be staying over but got covid. We'll do a video call in the morning and I'm excited to see his response to the socks!

My daughter is desperate to see Hamilton, got her really good tickets for it. She's going to be soooo excited

LDB2024 · 24/12/2024 21:29

Oh these are absolutely lovely!

Allow plenty of time for Pompeii. It's the most incredible place.

Got my DP an upgrade on his Apple Watch I bought him several Christmases ago. I can’t wait to see his face when he opens it.

Doggymummar · 24/12/2024 21:36

We are not doing present this year, but the dog has a pack of treats she will enjoy.

Heartattack41 · 24/12/2024 21:36

Taking Ds to Butlins in Feb half term, he's getting told tomorrow.

Or monster trucks 🤷

lolly07766 · 24/12/2024 21:37

I got my 18month old granddaughter a scooter after seeing her cousin on his, she's going to lose her mind! 😁

I’ve got DH a bass guitar.
He is constantly suggesting we get one for either one of the children- I know it’s because he wants one himself but thinks it’s frivolous.

GoldenSunflowers · 24/12/2024 21:47

The couple of books for DH. I know they’re just his kind of thing and he 💯 won’t expect them.

Knittedfairies2 · 24/12/2024 21:49

I bought my husband a fancy weather station because he's obsessed with weather. I will regret it, because he'll tell me every little detail...

CrossCuntry · 24/12/2024 21:51

I got my son a smartball for hockey training - he is obsessed with training and practising and he is going to absolutely love it - it measures all your stats and sets challenges.

For my dd, I got her bright pink crocs, some fab clothes and some graphic pens - I think we've done well for both this year.

purpleme12 · 24/12/2024 21:52

I am most excited to give the cats their present - the Cam the Cat squishmallow bed! 😂❤️

IceStationZebra · 24/12/2024 21:53

A book for DS. It’s one of a series which he recently discovered at the library and has been obsessed with for a few weeks now.

ComtesseDeSpair · 24/12/2024 21:56

I bought my parents a Paw and Glory print of their faces photoshopped onto the bodies of a Tudor-style king and queen with their dog’s face photoshopped onto a knight in the middle. He’s their favourite special protective prince. It took me forever going through my phone album to find photos of each of them looking straight at the camera and not grimacing slightly.

Nothelpingishard · 24/12/2024 21:57

What a lovely idea for a thread!!

I'm not with most of the recipients this year but, have sent a family portrait to my in-laws I think they'll really love so excited to see that! It's them, their children and grandchildren. Then have given my mum a heated throw, which again I won't see opened but hoping it goes down well. My sister loves a specific brand and about a year ago they did a crowdfunder selling some one off bits which took until today to be delivered!! But assuming that'll go down well too.

Wishing I was there with them really. Decided to have Christmas at home as the kids have never had a 25Th December in their own house, but so far as the adult in the scenario it's rather underwhelming as DH has spent the last 2 hours in his office wrapping :(

I got mine one of these last year. I got into it and I am as boring as him about it now 😂

LottieMary · 24/12/2024 21:58

My three year old has wanted a pirate costume for ages cos he loves muppets treasure island and we've got one that looks exactly like the one Tim curry wears.

My one year old will go mad over wrapping paper and spend the day trying to either walk or do a handstand 😍

notasnob · 24/12/2024 21:59

A big box of cash that my relative had written off years ago after investing it... it finally broke even earlier this year.

glastogal · 24/12/2024 22:05

I got my husband a heated gilet because he's always complaining about being cold and is a real wuss about being outside in winter. I think it's the gift he doesn't know he's desperate for and I'm really hoping he loves it 🤞

greglet · 24/12/2024 22:06

DS is 2y7m and VERY excited about the fact that Father Christmas is 'coming down the chimney in the deep dark night and I’m getting a green digger'.

The green digger is wrapped and ready to go, as is the play kitchen which we spent an hour building after bedtime - I felt like a proper grown up at last!

MumOfOneAllAlone · 24/12/2024 22:15

My dd is 5 and has autism. I think she's finally ready for a scooter which I've bought 🥰

Also got her some skates so fingers crossed she will like them x

Helplessandheartbroke · 24/12/2024 22:19

My great auntie died earlier this year. I got my other great auntie and my grandma (her sisters) teddy's made out of her clothes. Gave my other great auntie hers today and she cried and was so greatful. Grandma will get hers tomorrow
