Apologies if there is already a thread on this but I love hearing about gifts you are excited to give!

My mum asked for a book and I managed to get a signed copy, which I don’t think she’ll expect.

I've got my daughter tickets for Olivia Rodrigo at Hyde Park and I can't wait to see how excited she is

pumpkinpillow · 24/12/2024 23:42

National Theatre at home subscription (just 2 months) for aunt who will be thrilled. Theatre/ballet is something we enjoy going to together but don't go as often as we'd like to.

I'm excited to give dh his private eye annual because I want to read it (misses point of thread)Grin

I found 2 vintage/antique Japanese dolls in the opshop. DH is going to love them.

Mine isn't something I've bought but something I've made. Last year I crocheted a Man Utd blanket for my son. My partner looked wistfully at it and remarked that unfortunately he wouldn't be getting a Newcastle Utd one as he knows I hate crocheting with black wool. It's nearly impossible to see the stitches and is really fiddly. Well, for the past few months I've been secretly making him the blanket. I even had to buy a special lamp just so I could see the wool. I know he'll appreciate it as a labour of love but I never want to see another ball of black wool as long as I live! 😂

One thing I’ve got my mum is a set of bowls that have mathematical proofs on the bottom of them - they’re called “the proof is in the pudding”. She’s a retired mathematician who also loves puns, so I’m excited to see her reaction!

I been dating this amazing woman for not very long. I got her a stocking and filled it with little gifts and treats like scrunchies and lip balm and gin miniatures.

I work part time in a bookshop as well as my main job. Last august we had someone deliver an out of print book about the restoration of our local theatre. Only one copy! I got it straight away I can't wait to see dhs face. He loves our local theatre and is fascinated by it's restoration

Went to Asda at 630pm to get DD1 an air fryer 😂 I told her I just wanted a drive and she swallowed it and thought I was just a bit silly

I'm so excited for their presents tomorrow

DS- his first new phone as he’s always had hand me downs. It’s hidden in a new suitcase which is wrapped up as he has a trip abroad with school in 2025.

DD- younger one- the miniature jellycat Bartholomew bear that was sold out most places.

Older dd- her new hoover!

TeenLifeMum · 25/12/2024 00:47

Tickets to Reading Festival to see Chappell Roan is the big one for all three dc (teens).

DD3 had her MMR booster in early December and was obsessed with those bead toy things that you find in almost every doctors surgery. I literally had to pull her off of it to get her jab. So we bought her one.

I don't know what they're actually called so have included a picture.

After 4 years of infertility Im 30 weeks pregnant and got my DP a personalised 'Daddy' item. So excited to give it to him. We always exchange cards on Christmas Eve and he got me a 'mummy from bump' card and I was in tears!

Evenstar · 25/12/2024 01:13

My eldest DS loves the movie Interstellar, I managed to get him a special signed limited edition poster and I have framed it for him.

AgeingDoc · 25/12/2024 01:17

I've bought the whole family a gift - tickets to a concert we'll all really enjoy, plus a hotel for the night. We've had a bit of a difficult year with one thing and another and we haven't had a holiday so I'm really looking forward to the trip and also to revealing the surprise.

BecuaseIWantItThatWay · 25/12/2024 01:26

Honestly, Greggs vouchers.

Super simple but I know will go down really well! Saw them on a thread on MN and instantly knew I was on to a winner!!

NotQuiteUsual · 25/12/2024 01:28

A beautiful 1980s copy of Lord of the Rings to DH. It's so pretty and he loves pretty books.

LDB2024 · 25/12/2024 01:57

Oh this has been such a lovely read, I’m so glad I started this thread. Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and would love to hear reactions tomorrow!

Ds (18) isn't really getting anything exciting but he was 18 yesterday and got lots of surprises then.

Dd is getting an Apple Watch. She asked for one as a joke as it was too expensive. Then the other day I realised, it's been a shit year in some ways for us but I have had a pay rise and I can afford it so I bought one (refurbished) and I don't feel guilty about it. Ds will get equivalent money towards his trip away with friends.

Santa is bringing my 1.5 year old a punnet of grapes - his absolute favourite thing in the world! I can't wait to see his reaction 😄🥰

Telling my son we are going to Disney for his bday.

disclaimer last time I suggested Disney he said he’d prefer to go to Lego land 😂

When we told ds (then 6) we were going to Disney he said he'd hoped to go to the holiday inn beside aldi 😂

I've got this for my DS & his girlfriend.

They'll be thrilled.

Even better, I've booked them a nice hotel because they're not evening festival people.

I hope you're going to cut them in half!

(Not being a dick BTW, but toddlers and grapes give me the fear).
