I have attended many Christmas markets over the years. They are so crowded especially at the moment as German children finished school for the Christmas holidays. Frightening, my prayers are with all the victim's šŸ™

Then apply for asylum somewhere? About 600 Americans a year apply for asylum around the world so I can't see why you couldn't. If it looks like something you would be interested in the go and try it. Why are you whining about it on your thread about multiple people being killed though? That seems pretty crass

It's in relation to how exactly & why that man got granted asylum in Germany & is referred to as a refugee.. whereas the thousands of British in Saudi are called expats..
It's not crass at all female rights are being completely eroded due to males being granted access to female only spaces. I feel unsafe in my country.

Why? I genuinely fear for my safety. I feel my rights as a female are violated as males are demanding access to my safe spaces. You can not tell me how I should feel. I feel scared, violated & unsafe in spaces that had once been designated to me as a female.

You might have an issue.

If it helps, a transwoman from the UK was granted asylum in New Zealand because it was safer for her there than in the UK.

This!!!

Then leave? The man was granted asylum according to Germany's rules on asylum. You can be granted asylum if you fulfil the criteria. Look up the rules for being granted asylum in Germany if you really want to know how he was granted it. If you really feel unsafe in the UK then flee and apply for asylum somewhere.

I'm unwatching this thread now, imo you are being really disrespectful towards a horrific incident and trying to turn it into some kind of weird point scoring exercise or joke, I'm not sure which.

So how does it explain all the other Saudi refugees in Europe yet the British who move to Saudi are expats .

Edited

Are you aware of the reasons why people can claim asylum in other countries?

This is how people claim asylum in the UK

Claim asylum in the UK: Eligibility - GOV.UK

I presume Germany is similar. Saudi Arabia isn't a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention.

You know that life for a Brit in Saudi would be quite different from life for the average Saudi? We have friends working there, earning a packet and living like they're on holiday with the best of everything. Life is good for them because they need an excellent package to make it worth their while. There are so many very strict rules with hefty punishment that there has to be a sweetener to get Brits to go work there.

There has been a far right protest in Magdeburg.
I wonder if those idiots actually realize that the are doing exactly what the attacker wanted.
Which was to increase hatred against Muslim immigrants.
I also think it's interesting that a lot of people wƤre jumping on the islamist terrorist train but when it turns out he's a far right supporter he's just mentally ill.

And totally blame the AFD for fanning the flames of hatred. You can't bang on about the dangers of islamization and then be surprised that one of your supporters acts

Germany has a shortage of health care professionals so an arabic speaking doctor might have been welcomed any way.

I think until this man has been fully investigated etc, then that is not yet a given.

He has used a tactic previously used in Islamist attacks and i certainly do not take at face value his anti Islam tweets and posts.

But what he has done, regardless of his motivation, is added further support to AfD and all other right wing parties throughout Europe.

Colleagues have reported that he'd had a lot of time off sick in recent months and had been in conflict with refugee clients at the clinic

So who knows

Yes I suppose that could have been what he wanted.

"Because they are a terribly flawed, sick person."

I think that is one thing we can all agree on.

Also if this man had not been granted asylum in Germany then this attack would not have occurred or if he had been deported to Saudi as requested then this attack would also not have occurred.

When everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas, reflect for a moment that there are hundreds of families in Germany right now who have had their lives changed forever by the actions of this man.

And reflect whether one man's right to asylum is more important than the right of others not to lose loved ones or be badly injured or even just to feel safe at Christmas events.

Neither do I. In fact the media are gone into overdrive trying to make out he is anti Islamic. The tactic used, the fact he targeted a Christmas market, surely a mosque or a Muslim event would make sense if he was as anti Islamic as the media (who have their own agenda ) are making out.

It's not the first time Saudi Arabia intel has been ignored...

Also the media are clutching at straws claiming he's anti immigrant while being an immigrant himself. Also had a website helping Saudis gain asylum in Germany! Not adding up!

from BBC
A source close to the Saudi government told the BBC it sent four official notifications known as "Notes Verbal" to German authorities, warning them about what they said were "the very extreme views" held by al-Abdulmohsen.
The source, who asked not to be named, said these notifications were ignored.
However, another experienced counter-terrorism expert said the Saudis may be mounting a disinformation campaign to discredit someone who tried to help young Saudi women seek asylum in Germany.

You see that is what doesn't add up.. the man is painted by many outlets as being anti immigration yet he has a website & is actively helping asylum seekers gain refugee status himself. He himself is a refugee...

If he was angry at the German Government for the way they treat refugees (in his opinion), do you think that targetting a crowd of German people would fit with someone who wanted to commit a terrorist attack against Germany and its people?
