And it means he's having to cancel his holiday as well Sad

Alexandra2001 · 27/12/2024 13:35

So much for some of the headlines recently that Starmer is tired and worn out... perhaps extremely upset at his brothers illness.

DuncinToffee · 27/12/2024 13:42

That is sad news

Yes.

I can't imagine being able to fake wishing everyone the best Christmas when you know this will be your brothers last.

Efacsen · 27/12/2024 13:47

Thought the same - a bad time all round

Far too many too quick to judge, esp if it gives them chance to kick Labour.

BIossomtoes · 27/12/2024 13:59

It’s dreadful losing someone you love at Christmas time. It’s never the same again. Mr B’s dad died on Christmas Eve, it will always be tinged with sadness.

The CSEW data for example doesn’t include fraud and or computer misuse offences,

Where did you get the numbers from @2dogsandabudgie ?

Crime Rate UK which takes statistics from various sources.

Christmas also becomes associated with bereavement. Any other time of year, the anniversary of a death perhaps does not impact you in the same way.

May Mr Starmer rest in peace, 60 is far too young an age to die.

pointythings · 27/12/2024 15:01

It's so sad. There was an awful thread about Starmer's Christmas message on here - he must have recorded that knowing he was about to lose his brother. Many of the sisters on there should now be deeply ashamed but probably aren't.

The 28th is our tough day - this year it will be 7 years since my late husband threatened to kill me and was taken away by the police. It never goes away.

My deepest sympathy to anyone living with sad anniversaries at this time of year.

He's spent years supporting his brother, protecting him and looking after his welfare. This must have been so hard for him.

Keir clearly cared really deeply for Nick and tried to look out for him. He must be feeling pretty terrible right now. (any lurkers thinking of calling me out for being twee or whatever for expressing some empathy, don't bother).

Whenever you see anything about Starmer’s personal life he comes across really well. I wish people would quit the personal attacks.

I'm sorry @Elodie09 Sad. The 'firsts' are always hard to deal with, and especially when one of them is Christmas.
