Paris and EuroDisney in May, Iceland in the summer.

Yikesthathurt · 30/11/2024 22:27

France to ski
Svalbard July
Portugal August
Oman October
Vietnam Christmas

We are planting a lot of trees and offsetting, but looks slightly insane written down.

Svalbard in July will be lovely. I went in August many years ago and it was light 24/7 which was very unsettling. A bit like ‘the sun was shining on the sea, shining with all its might, he did his very best to make the billows smooth and bright, and this was odd because it was the middle of the night’ from Alice in wonderland!

One of things I loved when I was there was a midnight sun kayak trip. If they still do they I would highly recommend!

Im going to Botswana next year and I am so excited I could cry. 😊

We're going to Dusseldorf in a few weeks to visit the Christmas markets.
We've booked South Korea for Easter.
That's all so far but we'll be booking a summer holiday and another Christmas market at least plus maybe an October break. Travelling is our favourite thing to do.

Livinginaclock · 01/12/2024 00:16

London a few times, February, May, July, August and September.
Manchester in February
Aberdeen in March
Belfast in May
Newcastle in June.
Blackpool/Lytham in July.

Mainly for gigs/festivals.

Why Trinidad and Tobago?

Tridad and Tobago are fab destinations

Tabbyandwhite · 01/12/2024 00:17

A couple of cruises booked and a couple of short stays in Europe.

Flatandhappy · 01/12/2024 00:21

We are in Sydney so have different travel options.

A couple of days wine tasting in the Hunter Valley in January.
Two weeks in Bali in February.
Three nights in Melbourne in February catching up with a friend from England.
Four nights road tripping in regional NSW with family visiting from overseas in April.
Ten nights Vancouver/Whistler in April.
Three nights in Melbourne in May

Haven’t booked anything further than that but really want to go to Sri Lanka next year and will probably do another two week Bali trip. Cancer made us seriously rethink our priorities in life.

SnoopysHoose · 01/12/2024 00:29

Dublin in March with DDs,
Alvor, Portugal in April with another couple.
Still deciding for July and October

I would love to do a trip around NSW, it looks beautiful, I grew up partly in New Zealand and we holidayed mostly in Queensland, one year as a child my parents did a roadie from the Gold Coast to flipping Nimbim and Byron Bay (before it went all Hollywood), I felt like I was on the hippie trail!

Back in the UK now, we are saving for a bigger house though so travel budget is limited this year. Depending on what the finances and if we can get a cheap deal we might do a European break in September, but we will go camping in the UK at some point in late spring / early summer.

KohlaParasaurus · 01/12/2024 01:04

In limbo, as DH is waiting for an essential medical procedure and my parents could throw a curveball any time so we can only arrange trips at short notice. Hoping to get to Andalucía for a week at the beginning of the year.

SnowFrogJelly · 01/12/2024 01:09

Thailand end of Feb.. working on other plans

FuckMeUpFlorida · 01/12/2024 02:48

New Orleans for Mardi Gras (always wanted to see it)
Jordan in May
Maldives in June
Like PP, UK summer travelling around for gigs.

Looking forward to it!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 01/12/2024 07:25

France for ten days in the summer- our first family holiday abroad in 9 years! I cannot wait.

We usually do whitsun week with dh's brother and parents but I am refusing this year. If he decides to still go I'm either going to climb snowdon and stay in snowdonia for a few days, or do a very short city break. I'm excited because I have never travelled alone.

I think you'll be quite a distance from Devon.

Oooh I want to go to Botswana! Have a great time.

I’m excited to go to Svalbard too, and yes the midnight sun is going to be strange. The sun set there in October and won’t return until late February, that’s pretty odd too!

Yuja · 01/12/2024 08:47

Have usually booked something by now but money is a bit tighter than other years and also paying for DD to do an overseas sports camp. We've got a UK break between Xmas and new year in the North, and hope for a week in Spain or Greece in August.

squashyhat · 01/12/2024 08:48

India (Goa) in January/February, Japan and South Korea in September/October. Probably a city break in France to practice my French in between, and a bit of UK camping.

Clearinguptheclutter · 01/12/2024 08:51

i’ve literally been stressing about this all year but finally things are heading in the right direction

few days in Paris during Easter hols

proper posh hotel in Spain for a week over whit (none of us like very hot weather hence going then)

not booked specifically but we have booked two weeks off work in August when we will probably do some kind of road trip round Netherlands/germany. This will take a fair amount of planning so hopefully will get round to it in post Christmas lull before we all go back to work and school.

2 school aged kids
