Who are you going to the fjords in January with? I have done them in summer but would love to go up in winter

Hurtigurten 12 nights.

Tbry24 · 30/11/2024 21:33

This year we only had a week on a caravan site by the sea but in autumn, still cost a fortune out of season.

We have literally nothing planned for next year as the same holiday on the same dates is double the price so we’ve been priced out of going, it’s back in my home area of the country so my once chance to visit places I love and see family. Very upset we can’t afford it.

TheGodOfSmallPotatoes · 30/11/2024 21:33

Yep, California! What a place 🥰

GreatTheCat · 30/11/2024 21:38

Weekend in Cruft's and then on to London to see Oliver in March ( live in Dublin ) .
Ikos Oceania , Thessaloniki , with the girls at Easter .
London,Slovenia and Austria with the family in July.
3 days of musicals in lovely London with my daughter in August .
St. Andrew's for golf for 4 days in August with husband and two of the teens .
One night in Neven MacNean's Bistro in Cavan in October .
Hardly surprising I have no money left !!!

5 days in London with DD2 (20) in April.
As yet unbooked week somewhere in the summer hols - pref somewhere I've never been before with DD2 (DD1 and DH not interested in travelling).

EveryDayisFriday · 30/11/2024 22:45

@SallySilly
California, I've not been since my teens but we did an amazing fly drive road trip from San Fran to LA via Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Sequoia national park, Solvang, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and Santa Barbara. I loved it. So much variation from beaches to forests to deserts with interesting cities and towns in between. One of the most memorable places was Solvang, an odd Danish town in the middle of California.

  • edited, forgot to quote you.
Apfelkuchen · 30/11/2024 22:55

Porto at Easter, Italy roadtrip in July, October half term tbc depending on the situation in Middle East.

charabang · 30/11/2024 23:36

Wow those road trips sound amazing!

I'm doing a trip to Turkey in March and Greece in October. Will probably put in a couple of weekends at our favourite seafront guesthouse at Weston-super-Mare. Not for everyone's taste I know but me and DD love it and feel very welcomed and at home there.

HolidayHattie · 30/11/2024 23:37

Two weeks in India, a week in Spain and 10 days in Italy booked so far.

Hoping also for two or three short breaks in the UK, three or four European city breaks and one or two more long haul trips.

I know that seems a lot but I spent years with hardly any foreign holidays and I'm trying to see as much of the world as I can while I'm physically capable of it.

CissOff · 30/11/2024 23:41

2 weeks in Kos over the summer.
Feb half term in Cornwall
May half term - tbc but wherever we can get some sun.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 30/11/2024 23:43

Finland in Feb
Easter dh taking one DC to Germany for 3 days and I'm taking another to France for 3 days. Each before their oral exams for the language.
Nothing booked yet for summer. I really, really want to go to Iceland and do lots of hiking but realistically we probably need something a heck of a lot cheaper.

eakjoy · 30/11/2024 23:43

Tennessee road trip and Norwegian Fjords cruise.

HolidayHattie · 30/11/2024 23:44

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 30/11/2024 21:14

A week in La Palma, a week in Side Turkey then a 3 week road trip in Oregon and Washington. Can't wait for all of them!

That road trip sounds great. Pacific Coast Highway is on my bucket list.
