Check the trust pilot reviews before buying from OHS. They fight negative reviews but there's still plenty of them on there. Speaking from experience, they're an awful company.

Hullo, this is niche but any leads on a building /engineering kits for a 12year old? I was looking at KiwiCo but being American their postage to the UK puts it out of budget, I haven't found an equivalent here. Thank you

Me too - kiwico kits look great but not with the international postage, I'd love to hear about something similar in the UK.

@PuffinFeatures and @Bundlesoffuntoday I'll reply to you both together as you're both after kids' engineering kits.

Clementoni is worth a look for age 8+, they make a huge range of STEM kits at great prices: here's their Black Friday sale

Another for 8 and up, 4M KidzLabs Anti Gravity Magnetic Levitation Kit has a huge 54% off - was £25, now £11

This one looks good for a 12 year old: Construct & Create 14 In 1 Solar Robot Kit, was £24, now £20

As does this: EIGHT Advent Calendar Kit - Electronic Games, only a tiny discount but it looks so cool, £22

Snap Circuits are creative and suit all ages from 8 up:

Snap Circuits Beginner Electronics Discovery Kit, was £34, now £32
Snap Circuits SC-3Di Electronics Discovery Kit, was £62, now £56

The PiHut is always good for STEM kits, this Makedo EXPLORE Kit allows kids to make incredible things with cardboard.

Hope you both find something suitable in that little lot!

Has anyone seen any stand out deals on iPads, Apple pencils and keyboards? I’ve been looking and there seems to be the same reduction everywhere.

You're right @CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair it looks like most retailers are price matching on Apple Products.

I think your best bet is the Apple Black Friday shopping event, they're offering vouchers of up to £160 when you buy eligible products direct from Apple - I've had a look and iPads, pencils and keyboards are all included.

Also I got a good deal on a moka pot so am looking for some nice coffee cups to go with

@CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair I have a soft spot for Nkuku coffee cups, they've got up to 40% off for Black Friday, or there's lots of Le Creuset and Denby mugs in the John Lewis sale

I'm looking for a hairdryer, budget about £50

@Annie1290 how about this one:

BaByliss Platinum Diamond, was £65, now £31

Panasonic EH-NA65 Nanoe Hair Dryer with Diffuser, Quick Dry & Styling Nozzle, was £110, now £45

Mumsnetters also love the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer and Volumiser, which is an absolute steal at £25 (usually £50)

Out tumble dryer has given up the ghost. Can you find any bargain condenser dryers please?

@CoddledAsAMommet to be honest most tumble dryer recommendations these days are for heat pump models, as they're so much cheaper to run. We have a page of the best tumble dryer deals with lots of heat pump options.

For condensers, this one's a good deal: Hoover HLEC10TG Wifi Connected 10Kg Condenser Tumble Dryer, was £350, now £299

I’d like a shark vacuum. I don’t need cordless, but have cats and a DD with long hair that gets wrapped around hoover brushes.
Tyere are so many models. Any recommendations of a good deal for today? I also have blue light card if that helps.
thanks v much.

@WombatChocolate they make so many great vacuums, I know what you mean!

Based on your post, I think this is the best deal for you: Shark Stratos XL 2.6 Litre Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner, was £400, now £235 - that's the lowest price ever. It's featured on our best vacuum cleaners page and reviewed here if you'd like to take a closer look.

If that's over budget, the Shark Corded Upright Vacuum Cleaner is currently £132, down from £230 and is a smaller, lighter alternative with similar hair and pet features.

ands also anyone got thoughts on the different types?

Great question @Sarri my DC loved a subscription box but there don't seem to be as many around as there used to be.

The Curiosity Box is a UK-based STEM subscription box, I don't know it personally but it has pretty good reviews on Trustpilot and this MNer likes it - worth a look!

Hi @MissCherryCakeyBun I'm taking over from @PollyMumsnet on the thread for a bit.

We've rounded up a few of our favourite Kindle deals here, which also explains the difference between Kindles to help you make the right choice. A few standout deals here:

Kindle (2024 version), without ads, now £89 (was £105)

Kindle Paperwhite (16gb), now £125 (was £160).

Prices look to be the same across Amazon, John Lewis and Argos for the Kindle with ads (£80)

Hope this helps!

Hello @ClareMumsnet . I'm looking for an instant camera for my daughter, one that prints colour pictures.

EarthyMamma · 29/11/2024 12:48

Hi I think I might be asking the impossible!
Can you please find a 17" wheeled laptop case with sturdy wheels?
Budget around £50 if possible bit happy to go higher if the wheels are strong.

For various reasons my wife's commute now entails 2 longer stretches of walking on pavement rather than in train station or airport.

She won't entertain a shopping trolley though I adore mine! She works with teenagers who are very fond of mocking everyone so I don't blame her! ☺️

Thank you 🙏
