TeenGreenBottles · 28/11/2024 12:48

Hi, I'm looking for mermaid toys, a toy telescope, magnetic tiles and craft sets (boy and girl, infant age) please!

Hi @TeenGreenBottles I've found a few good deals here for you

Desire Deluxe Magnetic Tiles (57pc) - good value for such a big set. I've actually bought these for my 2yo for Xmas! Set is now £21 (was £27)

Alternatively, Connetix are really popular on Mumsnet - you can read our Connetix review here - and John Lewis have a 20% off deal on a 20-piece set, now £23

There's also 25% off the classic Magna-Tiles 32pc set, now £30

Is the telescope also for a younger child? If so, there's 20% off on the John Lewis My First Telescope, now £14

As for craft sets, I'm a big fan of the Play-doh playsets. There are lots of good Black Friday deals on those at Argos at the moment. Doesn't look like it's available there, but the Play-Doh Kitchen Creations Busy Chef's Restaurant Playset is my favourite, on offer over on Amazon for £17.

Some mermaid toys here for varying ages:
Polly Pocket Micro Tiny Power Seashell Purse Playset, now £18 (was £25)

Barbie Dreamtopia Mermaid Doll, over half price, now £17

Little Mermaid Live Action Ariel and Triton Doll Set - lowest price ever at Argos. Now £25

Hope this helps!

Hi @Drole Yes!

There's a great deal on the Xbox Series S, which is on sale now for £200 at Amazon (20% off!), as well as Argos and Currys

You can read more about this Xbox and the deal in our round-up here.

kikiandgigi · 28/11/2024 15:15

Any ideas for a playstation 5?

Hi @kikiandgigi - one of the most popular deals on Amazon this Black Friday is this offer on the Playstation 5. You can currently get it with £80 knocked off the RRP. (Was £480, now £400)

Alternatively, you can also pick up the digital edition (this one doesn't have a disc drive, but games can be downloaded) at Argos for £310 (saving £60).

Hope this helps! 😁

TashaMumsnet · 28/11/2024 16:19

Mince3141 · 28/11/2024 15:33

Up to £700 if possible but happy to spend a bit more if it'll last

Hey @Mince3141 - here are some deals I've found🕵

£300 off HP ENVY 17-da0503sa 17.3. Was £999, now £699

£101 off Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook Plus. RRP £350, now £249 - it's a Chromebook rather than a laptop so may not be exactly what you're after, but it does include a 12-month subscription to Google AI

£400 off ASUS ProArt PZ13 OLED 13.3. Was £1,199, now £799

Hope this helps! 💐

BeccyMumsnet · 28/11/2024 20:19

Icannotremembermyusername · 28/11/2024 17:35

Would you be able to help with a great cordless vacuum that can deal with Labrador hair😂😂. She sheds everywhere! Thank you 🤩

Hello @Icannotremembermyusername - I can help with this one actually!

I personally tested the Vax Blade 4 Pet and Car cordless vac earlier this year (my review is here if you're interested in reading more) and recommend it! It's currently half price at Amazon at £156 🙌

BeccyMumsnet · 28/11/2024 20:29

XiomarasHandbag · 28/11/2024 18:15

Do you have any suggestions for a smart watch (not Apple) for a teenage boy please? I am clueless on where to start!

Hi @XiomarasHandbag - I've had a look at what other MNers are recommending on the boards and it seems it all depends on what your teen needs the watch for as different models have different features.

Does he need one with GPS capabilities? Fitness tracker? Have phone capabilities? Or simply to help tell the time during his day?

We do have our roundup of the best kids smartwatches, and the only one on there that's discounted at the moment for Black Friday is the XPLORA X6 Play (was £179, now £145), which looks quite nice and would last a few years IMO.

PollyMumsnet · 29/11/2024 09:09

Good morning - it's actual Black Friday 🎉

Here are a few deals I just had to share with you:

Lefant M210 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, was £229 now an incredible £70!

Tons of great stuff including kids' stocking fillers from £2 in the Accessorize sale

Stanley Quencher Cups in lots of colours, were £45, now £33 at Urban Outfitters

Thank you for the requests, will get bargain hunting now!

PollyMumsnet · 29/11/2024 09:27

Smileynightnanny · 28/11/2024 20:46

Hi, do you have any recommendations for a cordless heated throw/blanket for an elderly lady, must be cordless so she doesn’t trip over any cables, thanks

Hi @Smileynightnanny most heated throws are corded, apart from the Stoov Huge Hug (review here) - Stoov aren't not having a Black Friday sale unfortunately, but they do a great range of cordless heated cushions and chair covers which might be worth a look.

Your best bet is probably something wearable, like this portable heated shawl:

FERNIDA Wearable Heated Shawl, was £60, now £44

... or this OHS Electric Heated Oversized Hoodie, was £26, now £19 - reviewed here

PollyMumsnet · 29/11/2024 09:39

PlumTurtle · 28/11/2024 20:58

Have you seen any deals on a good dehumidifier? Budget of about £150 (give or take, could probably go to £200).

There are a few stand-out dehumidifier deals around, we've got a page dedicated to them here if you want more of a browse: best dehumidifier deals

Challenge dehumidifiers come highly recommended by Mumsnetters, they have a 16l at £128 (was £160) which is a good size for medium-large rooms

12l is the most popular dehumidifier size, and is perfect for drying laundry, this Pro Breeze 12l/Day Dehumidifier is a good price at £115 (was £166), plus Pro Breeze is another trusted budget dehumidifier brand.

Meaco are the best of the best when it comes to dehumidifiers. They're sadly not having a Black Friday sale, but I did find this MeacoDry ABC 10L Compressor Dehumidifier with £10 off - now £140.

What are the best dehumidifier deals for Black Friday 2024? | Mumsnet

Discover the best deals on dehumidifiers ahead of Black Friday 2024. Save money and dry laundry faster with tried and tested dehumidifiers for less.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but does anyone know if Next usually have any Black Friday / Cyber Monday offers? About to buy a dining table but thought I should hold off!

This is exactly the right place to ask! Next don't participate in Black Friday, but they do have a sale section that's worth a browse.

They're likely to go into their big winter sale on Christmas Day online, and Boxing Day in stores, as they have done in recent years.

If you're on the lookout for a dining table, Oak Furniture Land have some huge discounts, as do DUSK

PollyMumsnet · 29/11/2024 10:03

@PuffinFeatures and @Bundlesoffuntoday I'll reply to you both together as you're both after kids' engineering kits.

Clementoni is worth a look for age 8+, they make a huge range of STEM kits at great prices: here's their Black Friday sale

Another for 8 and up, 4M KidzLabs Anti Gravity Magnetic Levitation Kit has a huge 54% off - was £25, now £11

This one looks good for a 12 year old: Construct & Create 14 In 1 Solar Robot Kit, was £24, now £20

As does this: EIGHT Advent Calendar Kit - Electronic Games, only a tiny discount but it looks so cool, £22

Snap Circuits are creative and suit all ages from 8 up:

Snap Circuits Beginner Electronics Discovery Kit, was £34, now £32
Snap Circuits SC-3Di Electronics Discovery Kit, was £62, now £56

The PiHut is always good for STEM kits, this Makedo EXPLORE Kit allows kids to make incredible things with cardboard.

Hope you both find something suitable in that little lot!

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 29/11/2024 08:08

Has anyone seen any stand out deals on iPads, Apple pencils and keyboards? I’ve been looking and there seems to be the same reduction everywhere.

You're right @CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair it looks like most retailers are price matching on Apple Products.

I think your best bet is the Apple Black Friday shopping event, they're offering vouchers of up to £160 when you buy eligible products direct from Apple - I've had a look and iPads, pencils and keyboards are all included.

PollyMumsnet · 29/11/2024 10:13

CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair · 29/11/2024 08:17

Also I got a good deal on a moka pot so am looking for some nice coffee cups to go with

@CultureAlienationBoredomandDespair I have a soft spot for Nkuku coffee cups, they've got up to 40% off for Black Friday, or there's lots of Le Creuset and Denby mugs in the John Lewis sale
