Even Christmas day she was kept in a drawer - oh how can someone be so cruel

The drawer where the child was kept, open underneath a cream divan bed with a blanket inside showing where the girl lived for the first three years of her life.

Cheshire mother who kept her baby hidden in a drawer for three years jailed

Prosecutors say the girl had "never known daylight or fresh air" when she was found.

Absolutely heartbreaking

ChristmasCheesecake · 26/11/2024 18:46

Oh dear God, what have I just read? She had other children too 😢

DoreenonTill8 · 26/11/2024 18:49

Only 7 years?!! I know there'll be legal reasons for this but come on that's appalling.
Hope all the children are removed, absolutely horrendous.

Bridgetomalley · 26/11/2024 18:49

Oh that is horrific. It's reduced me to tears actually. That poor poor child.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 26/11/2024 18:50

I literally just watched that on the bbc with my mouth agape.

benjaminjamesandgraham · 26/11/2024 18:50

I cannot stop thinking about her start in life - fed on weetabix and wotsits. Just thank goodness she was found. Utterly heartbreaking

I literally just watched that on the bbc with my mouth agape.

Me too, the most stunningly heartbreaking thing I've seen in a long while.

Moglet4 · 26/11/2024 18:52

I really wish I hadn’t read that

Wintersgirl · 26/11/2024 18:53

Thank god someone happened to call by and hear the child cry otherwise the poor thing would have died, it's unbelievable isn't it.

Emelene · 26/11/2024 18:55

Heartbreaking… Her partner didn’t know and he stayed around the house - how? And the comment about the child not being part of the family, but the other children being cared for well. 💔

ChristmasCheesecake · 26/11/2024 18:55

Thank goodness she was found and at 3 hopefully she won’t remember it but from the developmental side of things she’ll probably never catch up. But at least she’s safe now.

Nightvax · 26/11/2024 18:55

Only 7 years and that poor child will be affected for the rest of her life, the first 3 years are absolutely crucial in shaping life as we know it, this is just heartbreaking

mumpea · 26/11/2024 18:56

That terrible mother and that poor child to find out that your own mother had no love or care for you for your first years of your life and that the bonds you should have for siblings now are torn. I pray for her for love and acceptance in her life

doodleschnoodle · 26/11/2024 18:57

It's awful. She was the size of a 7mo baby when found. It just beggars belief. Imagine being the visitor who discovered her too.

Prescottdanni123 · 26/11/2024 18:57

@Emelene

Wasn't it the boyfriend who found her? He heard noises.

Sometimes, little kids stop crying or making much noise when they know that no one is coming 😔

Dontlletmedownbruce · 26/11/2024 18:58

Poor siblings too. How can they ever reconcile the mother they loved with this.

ByMerryKoala · 26/11/2024 19:00

God, that might be the worst thing I've ever read.

Buttercream22 · 26/11/2024 19:00

Absolutely heartbreaking! That poor, poor girl. I hope she's being well cared for now. Why are some people so cruel 😞

HooMoo · 26/11/2024 19:02

Just saw it on bbc news. She couldn’t crawl, she couldn’t walk, she couldn’t talk :( so heartbreaking how can someone be so cruel.

Dontlletmedownbruce · 26/11/2024 19:05

I hope she is being protected, researchers could have a great time with her and some will be wanting to conduct experiments.

Reminds me of the Genie Wiley case.

ChristmasCheesecake · 26/11/2024 19:06

Omg just read this on itv:

The woman's partner told police on one occasion, on Christmas Eve, the mother and the other children went to his parent's house in the early morning, not leaving until the evening of Christmas Day - leaving Child A alone the entire time.

It was the mother’s partner who found her when by chance he returned to the house to use the bathroom as he wasn’t feeling well and found the poor child crying on the bed.

ImJustAGirlInACountrySong · 26/11/2024 19:07

Poor poor little girl

I can't comprehend it

derxa · 26/11/2024 19:07

So many unanswered questions

BreadInCaptivity · 26/11/2024 19:10

WTF have I just read?

I just can't comprehend how anyone could do this. That poor, poor child.
