No, stupid thing to do. He has reported himself to the police.

No, stupid thing to do. He has reported himself to the police.

He didn’t have much choice!

I’m not sure ‘stupid’ quite covers it. That was a very violent, sustained attack.

SerendipityJane · 27/10/2024 17:35

The evergreen School/VAT issue really has highlighted that by their own argument, some parents could have done with some private schooling 😀

Sorry, who is this about?

Might be better to not get caught on video punching somebody in the street even if they did threaten you first.

Yup. Man had his arms by his sides.

Presumably there will be a byelection.

PandoraSox · 27/10/2024 18:03

Sorry, who is this about?

Mike Amesbury, Labour MP for Runcorn and Helsby.

Possibly soon to be MP for HMP Kirkham.

Oh, right. Thanks!

Eta: just saw the punch. What an idiot.

Looks like Amesbury has been suspended. Unsurprising really.

Edited

You took the words right out of my mouth. Sheer stupidity.

RafaistheKingofClay · 27/10/2024 21:32

At least we don’t have to spend a week talking about whether he should be suspended. It just gets done.

PickAChew · 27/10/2024 21:42

Just notice there is a Kemi Badenoch zoom chat tomorrow. I'm I being cynical to expect that the questions will be heavily vetted and not selected to put her on the spot?

If anyone wants to know what Farage, Truss, Jenrick, Johnson are supporting, watch the Trump rally at Madison Square Garden

Scary stuff

OP posts:
RafaistheKingofClay · 27/10/2024 22:17

Is that his weird reliving a nazi rally thing?

DuncinToffee · 27/10/2024 22:19

Yes it is.

Piggywaspushed · 28/10/2024 06:37

Somewhat predictable questions dominating Badenoch thread.

Notonthestairs · 28/10/2024 07:57

The anti-CIA sentiment expressed at the Trump rally is pretty extraordinary. Undermining the reputation of their own security forces is something else.

Sam Freedman on Twitter pointed out that the only certainty is that Trump and Musk will fall out at some point - I can't imagine what a dangerous bin fire 🔥 that would be.

After Badenoch's pamphlet suggesting SN kids are at an 'economic advantage' (even transport!) there is nothing that could incentivise me to tune in.

itsgettingweird · 28/10/2024 08:21

I've seen that video now. 👀 I'm glad he was suspended without question. He should have been.

I'm always on the side of it's not the party leaders fault what their party do - what's a reflection of them is how they deal with it.

I've always been the same with parenting - don't judge the child's behaviour - judge the parents reaction (or lack of it!)

Alexandra2001 · 28/10/2024 08:27

Victoria Atkins given complete free rein to rubbish Labour by Kay Burley, no interruptions and few challenges on the simple fact that she and the Tories have been in power for 14 years... complete opposite to how she questioned Bridget Phillipson.

Shocking bias, could have been a party political broadcast.

Can't find mention of this press release on any major media platform - anyone else?

“If people want to criticise the path we choose, that’s their prerogative. But let them then spell out a different direction. If they think the state has grown too big, let them tell working people which public services they would cut. If they don’t see our long-term investment in infrastructure as necessary, let them explain to working people how they would grow the economy for them."

Yes, she's had a few questions about that too.

They have all lifted the "harsh fiscal reality" line, but not mentioned the rest of the release! Thanks for the link.
