Victoria Atkins given complete free rein to rubbish Labour by Kay Burley, no interruptions and few challenges on the simple fact that she and the Tories have been in power for 14 years... complete opposite to how she questioned Bridget Phillipson.

Shocking bias, could have been a party political broadcast.

Burley is at it for years. Kuensberg is catching up though? Prepping Johnson before interviews etc.

The Covid Inquiry starts its live hearings again today looking in detail at the impact on the NHS, its staff and its patients.

Don’t need an inquiry for that. MN can help us here. The staff spent the time dancing and nobody got treated for anything.

Someone pointed out that Musks withdrawing his £1,000,000 prize suggests he is less than confident of a Trump win. If he really thought Trump was going to win he'd ignore the law because Uncle Donald would pardon him.

Or he doesn't trust Trump ...

Kuensberg was atrocious yesterday. She kept going round the same loop time and time again, getting the same answer to the same question again and again. She was like a terrier with a rat. I wish to God the Beeb would replace her.

With all the main broadcasters and their so called top teams, there seems to be no questioning as to why we are here, why we have 7.6m on waiting lists, SENDS in crisis, numbers in poverty going up... the unfunded NI cuts... crumbling roads and building, cladding debacle...

14 years of abject failure....

But perhaps not so strange, people like Burley or Kuensberg, are extremely well off, the same people with the broadest shoulders that Labour may target for increased taxes.

In anticipation of the Budget, quite a few new 'I regret voting Labour' posters are popping up.

In other news, SYL has pleaded guilty to breaking a 2021 High Court order.

But, but, but - hasn't he spent the last week asking his "supporters" for more funds so that he can prove his innocence?

It's almost like he's a grifter and they're all gullible morons...

newnamethanks · 28/10/2024 12:14

😅 perfectly put.

It will just fuel the narrative that he is being persecuted. I imagine Team Tommy will spin some bollocks about Keir Stamer personally waterboarding him before someone from "they" forced him to sign a confession.

Remember BoJos "apology" ?

I expect he will be in receipt of copious amounts of badly written fan mail while he's being kept as a political prisoner by an oppressive society.

I have sympathy for anyone in prison with Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. No doubt Mr Yaxley-Lennon will try to claim he is a victim.

Agree very well put
Serendipity hope your recovery goes well 💐
I’ve given up on Kusenberg, she is nothing more than a troll & Kay Burley gives me the bloody rage the bias is staggering sure it feeds into the nonsense that gets posted on MN at times & the outrage at Labour threads with a dollop of benefit bashing/non working parents bringing down state schools etc is getting really bloody tiresome.
I had a text from DWP this morning saying my PiP review is now complete 10 months after they harassed me to return the form & wouldn’t give me an extension to try & get some help with filling it in, apparently will receive a letter within two weeks with the decision I can feel my nerves fraying & that slightly sick feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Cheguevarahamster · 28/10/2024 14:14

Good news about YL. I'm apologise for the lack of input to the thread as on holiday. Here is cat from Pompeii for extra tax. .

Brilliant photo Che hope you are enjoying Pompeii we went a few years ago had a fabulous time.

SerendipityJane · 28/10/2024 14:27

I notice the BBC is now almost over-eager to refer to Yaxley-Lennon as Yaxley_Lennon.

Interesting ...

I finally got a letter from them about DS1's, this morning, too. They posted the review form on Christmas eve and I received it in the middle of January. I did get a 2 week extension after spending over an hour in the phone but obviously felt rushed getting it sent back to them in case it took 2 weeks to get back to them. Our letter said they hadn't reviewed it yet so they were extending his award for a year and might extend it again if they haven't done it within the next year. All well and good but renewing his bus pass is going to be a pain in the butt and it's a good job our motability car is for Ds2, instead.

Both DS's are lucky they have a grumpy mum as their appointee and live with family who can buffer any unpredictability for them.

VimtoVimto · 28/10/2024 14:43

Here’s a cat from down the road from Pompeii at Herculaneum.

When Andrew Marr retired Mischal Hussain was said to be in the running for the job as well as Laura Keunsberg. I think she would have been far better.

Anyone would be better than Kuensberg. Literally anyone.

ilovesooty · 28/10/2024 15:18

I shall be glad when they publish the budget.
I'm getting sick of the frothing about it. Endless threads with the same whiners bleating about the same ill informed and speculative scaremongering tripe.
There are even claims that Reeves is gloating, FFS.

PandoraSox · 28/10/2024 15:28

Me too Sooty. Although there will be lots of frothing on budget day, at least it will be frothing about facts. Hopefully.

DuncinToffee · 28/10/2024 15:29

Oof!

In addition to receiving an 18 month sentence, Stephen Lennon has been ordered to pay the costs of the Solicitor General’s office, approx £80,350, with a down payment of £50,000. This, added to his own legal fees, will push the costs of this case to about £100,000

They’re raging about the £1 rise in the cap on bus fares now - I bet most of them can’t remember the last time they got on a bus.

It is infuriating. They probably have Thatcher's view of bus users.
