Yes, partygate due to having regulations in place that shouldn't have been there. All due to the stupid regulations and no comment on the witless, feckless, entitled sniggering participants. Kemibabble on Kuensberg.

Thanks for watching it and taking one for the team. I’m not sure I can stomach it this morning.

DuncinToffee · 03/11/2024 09:58

PS VAT is a 'tax on aspiration' Confused

I am not watching, just seeing clips and reading comments

Seconded.

Well it'll please all the conspiracy theorist, anti-vaxxer types I guess. Kemi tells it like it is.

Eta: she voted for the rules to be imposed? Has she forgotten that?

newnamethanks · 03/11/2024 10:01

Grr. Sorry, couldn't manage a whole one, it's early in the day.

DuncinToffee · 03/11/2024 10:02

Rachel Reeves did well on Sky, explaining that she got things wrong in June because the Tories lied about finances and she didn't have all the information

LK seems quite upset about the tax on private schools and jets

Bit of a Boris love fest going on there between LK and KB

Ah yes. This is the preferred answer for a lot of MNers.

The nasty public made me do it.

And then the nasty public were stupid enough to respect the laws we made.

Look what you made me do.

Disgraceful cynical subversion of the public putting their trust in the government. They can fuck right off.

Anything on her policy for social care? Or SEND? Or water companies? Transport?

Or anything that, you know, impacts the majority of the country?

LK: So, Kemi Badenoch, how will you keep the Tory party together for the return of Boris Johnson ?

DuncinToffee · 03/11/2024 10:19

Badenoch doesn't do policies

She also said OBR has refuted RRs claim of 22bn black hole. Is this correct?

Sibilantseamstress · 03/11/2024 09:41

The shadow cabinet should be … interesting.

Oh according to the thread I've just contributed to there are new and refreshing names being mentioned. 🙄

She's learned nothing from the election defeat then.

The OBR is a bit cagey about the exact amount, they haven't exactly refuted it

The media are at risk of being accused of being a bit dim, if they aren't careful.

A brick could see that there is a contradiction in the two following "facts"..

Labour - we didn't know about the black hole before
Tories - there is no black hole
OBR - here it is
Tories - Ah, so you should have known about it before

Reeves and her team are saying there’s a line by line analysis showing where it came from which is available online. They’re presenting the receipts.

SerendipityJane · 03/11/2024 11:37

Just seen a headline about Tory membership being lowest ever. Quite apposite as I saw an old friend yesterday who had enough of the Tories after 40 years a member (some of which was as a young conservative) when BoJo was elected leader. If they've lost him, they may as well just fold up now. He still is a poster Tory Boy with a poster Tory family none of whom is interested. Obviously they have no truck with Reform, so it looks like switch to LibDem (or maybe Green !)

What is even worse is his 4 kids - all of whom should be as Tory as they come - "wouldn't be seen dead" (his words) voting Tory either.

Just like rivers can change course over millennia (just look at the Nile) sometimes demographics can just wash away history. Ultimately it's how we lost feudalism.

ilovesooty · 03/11/2024 11:41

I see you're being targeted again blossomtoes by the poster who referred to you and me as bullies yesterday.

Water off a duck’s back. I think they had a little enforced holiday the last time.

ilovesooty · 03/11/2024 11:48

They've only had that name since August. Starting threads wasn't compulsory last time I looked at the talk guidelines.

Julia Lopez (shadow culture sec) says leaving the European Convention on Human Rights is still on the table for Kemi Badenoch's Conservatives

I take it they are not interested in winning back those Lib Dem seats. Fools.

How are they going to win back those and the Reform voters? It’s an impossibility.
