Oof. The employer's NI decision will cause some froth.

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/10/2024 13:05

Reducing % of UC that can be taken in debt repayments.

Certain people will hate that one. But it is a good decision.

The NI changes for small businesses will upset the doom and gloom mongers who think Labour wants to destroy small businesses

Certain people need to learn some basic economics. 😂

PandoraSox · 30/10/2024 13:07

Small businesses protected.

CGT increase.

Willowkins · 30/10/2024 13:08

Small businesses taken care of - threshold changed so more employers won't have to pay NI

And yet lots of them were fine with Brexit screwing small businesses for some fake idea of of sovereignty.

I think she is making some good decisions here.

dontcallmelen · 30/10/2024 13:10

Frothing thread already started.

InMySpareTime · 30/10/2024 13:03

Raised Pension Credit threshold too. That'll take the wind out of the frothers' sails

Oh, good call, Rachel.

PandoraSox · 30/10/2024 13:11

Some good decisions on IHT.

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/10/2024 13:11

This is all good so far, isn’t it? Suspect the more frothing the better it is.

PickAChew · 30/10/2024 13:13

The frothing started as soon as she opened her mouth.

It is good. Some really sensible, pragmatic decisions. Good speech too, with a few jokes thrown in.

So much for the "they are coming for your house and savings".

InMySpareTime · 30/10/2024 13:13

Increased APD on private jets. Direct dig at Sunak there 😂

Willowkins · 30/10/2024 13:13

Private jets air duty goes up. This budget is really gunning for the super rich

CoatesCat · 30/10/2024 13:14

I'm loving this. I think she's played a blinder. Leaked/pre-announced the stuff she knew would attract the most negative feedback and kept back the positive bits which balance out the decisions she's made

That made me laugh, Sunak wasn’t even listening!

RafaistheKingofClay · 30/10/2024 13:15

Not changed the CGT on residential property. That’s one to shut the frothers up.

Willowkins · 30/10/2024 13:16

Non-dom tax regime abolished

DuncinToffee · 30/10/2024 13:16

Non dom tax regime removed

I look forward to the OBR report that Hunt seems upset about.

I loved her speech about this and her quotes from the IsF
