Disposable vapes being banned

This has been confirmed today - coming into effect in June.

Looking at the bigger picture, this can only be a good thing. The environmental consequences of these are hideous, and they surely encourage a lot of 'casual' vaping.

They are also clearly big business. Newsagents, corner shops etc make a fortune from them (not just from the vapes but from the add can of drink, packet of crisps etc that people pick up when they go in for a vape). And I assume vaping shops also sell a lot of them too.

Will the banning lead to fewer kids vaping, I wonder? I hope so.

Because I have a higher bar than you and be I think the ban should have come sooner.

Blame the Tories then. They had plenty of time to do something. This is nothing but a very thinly veiled attempt to slate Labour because you are pissed off about the private school tax. Maybe take your really high bar and try and hang it somewhere else.

The lobbying against this would have been so intense. Glad they didn’t win.

I quit a 14 a day cigarette habit 5 years ago for a refillable vape. Still vaping now with much reduced nicotine
As an ex smoker I was called for a chest x Ray and so far my lungs are clear
In my opinion, walking along a main road exposes the lungs to more pollutants
I do agree with the banning of disposable vapes which are attractive to children, but I'm rolling my eyes wondering what labour will ban next
Whatever happened to freedom of choice.

It was actually the Tories who initiated the plans to ban vapes! Labour are just continuing with the policy.

Maybe I will.

Meanwhile some are pathetically happy with the greenwashed crumbs they have been offered.

You sound a bit cross. I, on the other hand, am delighted with the private school tax and the vape ban ( wish they would actually go further and shut down all the private schools but one can’t have everything) 🎉

Wishing other children and parents’ unhappiness is a very shaky foundation for your own delight. Enjoy your crumbs now, who knows what someone else might wish on you one day.

I’m sure they will manage.

I've used the disposable vapes to stop smoking, first thing I said when it was on the news this morning to DH was I will jus have to start smoking again 😂

I've yet to find a refillable vape I like, I think I will need to go speak to a specialist shop to get me set up

Go on Amazon and try a geek sonder great little vapes, long battery life, cheap and the liquids are cheap too! Try nic salts as they have more flavour but you can reduce the nicotine content. I'm now vaping after giving up a 20 year 30 a day habit! Not bothered about the disposable ones being banned as they are more expensive and don't last as long as the refillable ones! But anyone hoping for less vapour be aware the refillable ones kick out alot more!!

Thanks! Will have a look today whilst I am 'at work'.

I have tried before but there were so many to look at and different liquids I got confused and gave up! Disposable have just been an easy option.
