I just wondered why Kelly Jay Keen banned from mumsnet?
seems odd as its a site for Mums and children and KJK is trying to stop indoctrination and mutilation of children and protecting womens spaces and rights?

OP posts:

People mainly get banned for not sticking to the Talk guidelines.

If her posts were deleted then no-one here can say. You'd have to contact MN who might not want to give details of someone's deleted posts.

ItsTheGAGGGGGGGGG · 23/10/2024 14:33

What exactly could any of us do about it? Contact MNHQ and argue your case there. Good luck

KizzyDora · 23/10/2024 14:34

She doesn't stick to talk guidelines.

chrisharwood · 23/10/2024 14:35

can you be specific about which guidelines she disnt adhere to ?

OP posts:
AlisonDonut · 23/10/2024 14:37

I don't think it is really anyone's business.

If you want to go ask her, she's on twitter and has her own you tube channel which you can call into. Just go ask her.

If you missed the threads at the time then that's on you. Can't seriously expect people to post such specifics from years ago ffs.

larklane17 · 23/10/2024 14:37

She didn't buy naice ham and used a toilet brush.

How tf are we supposed to know that when they've been deleted

gamerchick · 23/10/2024 14:37

Have you just noticed?

SapphosRock · 23/10/2024 14:39

She said that women who believe they are men (ie trans men) should be sterilised.

WomenShouldStillWinWomensSportsIsBack · 23/10/2024 14:41

The magical esoteric talk guidelines that are as clear as mud where certain words and phrases are banned but there's no list anywhere so you occasionally are pootling along minding your own business and suddenly BAM you're gone. I just got allowed back from being suspended for quite a while, most of which was for being honest on the FWR board (eta: and some of which was for not suffering fools gladly).

I try my best to follow the guidelines and they are clearer now than they were 2 years ago but still not as specific as I would like given that certain words just trigger post deletion, and too many post deletions gets you banned.

AuldSpookySewers · 23/10/2024 14:41

Presumably because she dared to say something a bit negative about Trans stuff.

You're not allowed to say anything they deem negative about Trans stuff on here otherwise you get your posts deleted.

I think "they" wrongly view it in the same way as kicking puppies. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mustn't upset the advertisers or die hard Trans supporters.

Circumferences · 23/10/2024 14:41

It was a long time ago, when MN kept getting accused of being a "hotbed of transphobia" which wasn't helping them financially. (It never has been obviously, but it is full of women who understand reality.)

A LOT of regular feminist posters got banned around the same time. The FWR board became really heavily moderated, obsessively reported on by stalkers who reported but never posted or contributed, so it lost a lot of brilliant minds all of whom were (imo) unfairly booted off.

It is still like that over in the naughty corner, but I don't think it's as bad as it was.

Who are you responding to?
As I said, people can't read deleted posts. As I said, you'll need to contact Mumsnet.

I can't tell if you think this forum is used solely by Mumsnet staff but it isn't, it's the general public who are not privy to Mumsnet's every decision.

Agree, op it was early on and some things were more off limits than now

tissueboxandcandles · 23/10/2024 14:57

Don't mention safeguarding children. A very knowledgeable poster got banned for that.

StarSlinger · 23/10/2024 15:03

For breaking talk guidelines I assume. Same reason anyone else is banned, She was just another poster, not anyone special.

Larrythebloodycat · 23/10/2024 15:19

I wasn't aware that she had been banned, but if she has, it's probably something to do with her going completely off the deep end lately.

Why not ask in Site Stuff? None of us are moderators.

Or are you just looking for traffic for your thread?

Literally all the feminism chat boards are now are people being negative about the trans community under the guise of 'protecting women' (which I believe in, btw, I just don't think I have to be a dick to someone about it), so I strongly doubt it was just expressing an anti-trans opinion. You are more likely to get banned from MN for defending trans people at the moment. 😂

rubbish

the feminism board is much more strictly moderated for everyone

goldenshred · 23/10/2024 15:51

For saying things women aren't allowed to.

This is absolute rubbish, people are still being suspended / having accounts removed because they don't believe in gender ideology and say things that annoy those who go around reporting 'wrong think'.

And as for 'under the guise of protecting women', why do you think that women wouldn't be concerned that any man can 'identify' their way into single sex spaces and sports? Doesn't it bother you that women can't even have single sex rape crisis support?

As for the OP afaik KJK hasn't been on here for a while and a while ago the rules were stricter than they are now thanks to a brave woman who tested it in court so it has nothing to do with her 'recent activity'.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 23/10/2024 15:54

KJK hasn't been on MN for a great many years. I don't remember her posts so she can't have been an Archers listener, but I have the impression she has a great many strong opinions which she expresses very forthrightly. It could have been anything, not necessarily to do with gender ideology and safeguarding.

ElBandito · 23/10/2024 16:07

A more important question is 'why was LangCleg banned from mumsnet?'
