I just wondered why Kelly Jay Keen banned from mumsnet?
seems odd as its a site for Mums and children and KJK is trying to stop indoctrination and mutilation of children and protecting womens spaces and rights?

She was talking about the protected characteristic of TRANS which doesn't exist.

So if an employer wants to not employ a man who says they are a woman and who would want to access female spaces and overstep the boundaries of the women that currently work there, then it should be ok to say no to employing him.

And if a housing officer is faced with placing a man who says he is a woman in a female only house for example, then they should be allowed to not put that person in there for the safety and dignity of the females already living there.

Why is it 'transphobic' to have concerns about females and their health, safety and dignity and the fact that if they object to men in their spaces and housing, they are likely to lose their jobs and housing over it?

It's transphobic to say that trans people shouldn't be allowed to have children.

KJK is as transphobic as they come and I'm not sure what mental gymnastics you have to do to think otherwise.

Her point about women who say they are men and who take incredible levels of drugs to pretend they are men, and who then go on to have babies are hypocrites [by doing the one thing that only women can do] and put their children in danger by taking high levels of untested drugs.

How is that 'transphobic'?

AlisonDonut · 24/10/2024 08:58

I'm not doing 'mental gymnastics', I'm explaining the points that she was making that you seem to have completely misunderstood.

I have zero interest in having any of KJKs points explained to me thanks and certainly won't be wasting time trying to see things from her (poisonous) viewpoint.

You'd rather believe the mythology then. Each to their own.

It isn't poisonous to be protective over womens' and girls' rights but we all have decisions to make on what we pay attention to.

True but it IS possible to be both poisonous AND be protective over womens rights.
A lot of people start well with good intentions but then become more important than the issue they are fighting for and it becomes more about ego than doing the right thing.

And?

You can be good and right, you can be bad and right, you can be poisonous and right and you can be right in a whole host of different words, phrases and even through the medium of dance.

Who cares? Do we have to rehash this on a daily/weekly basis? If you don't want people talking about KJK then stop talking about her!

It's really simple.

@RufustheFactuaIReindeer It’s really not hard to find receipts that she goes beyond safeguarding concerns and into clear cut transphobia.

Believe what you want to believe, but don’t kid yourself it’s based on sound judgement. KJK is, and has been for a very long time, vehemently and vocally against trans people being treated equitably.

Recent examples of her stance include that trans and non binary people should not be employed, or rented housing.

I may have missed another post as there are few after this that I have not read. But this is a misrepresentation of her position.

She is saying that gender should not be a protected characteristic.

Not that trans idenitfying people should not be employed or housed.

Grossly misrepresenting her to make a point is not helping your position.
