I just wondered why Kelly Jay Keen banned from mumsnet?
seems odd as its a site for Mums and children and KJK is trying to stop indoctrination and mutilation of children and protecting womens spaces and rights?

You're not allowed to say anything they deem negative about Trans stuff on here otherwise you get your posts deleted.

HA! Now THAT is rubbish. I was suspended for a week for asking a poster why they were deliberately being unkind and choosing to mispronoun someone. And you are absolutely not allowed a moderate opinion, you must be vehemently anti-trans or you are, by default, a brainwashed non-thinker who hates women.

But, whatever. That's not the OP's Q and I don't want to derail. KJK is a nasty piece of work, whatever her alleged motivations and I'm delighted she's banned.

Yup. I worked out how to unfollow the "feminism" board and mumsnet is suddenly a much nicer place to be. Personally I am glad that KJK is banned, I remember some of the things she said and they were outrageous - cue posters falling over themselves to accuse me of being a child abuser/women hater/man.

Probably all of them and God help anyone who suggests she is anything other than perfect, all her posse will pile on too.
She is a great advocate for womens rights and has been very brave in the face of awful unwarranted abuse but I wouldn't want to sit down for a drink with her (which I am sure she would be ok with)

How would we know? Only MNHQ and anyone who saw all the posters posts will know. It's a bit odd asking about one person's mumsnet posts or is she a celebrity or something?

Firstly, KJK is not a feminist. Several of the posts here imply that she is.

Secondly, KJK has stated that she will never return to Mumsnet, even if her ban is overturned. Therefore, the fact that she's banned is irrelevant.

Thirdly, KJK usually speaks live and without script. Therefore, she has worded some things badly due to the is, which she apologized for years ago.

Years ago (possibly 10+) she was extremely rude and actually harassed me over a post I'd made, pming me and asking if I'd changed my mind over what I'd written yet.
(What I'd written about was fairly "low key" about a personal situation of mine so it was completely over the top to have pursued me in this way).
It actually quite upset me and it's no surprise to me that she's since been banned.

Exactly. If you breach the guidelines often enough you get banned. She was presumably subject to the same moderation as anyone else.

The issue is discussed more than any other on MN, well maybe not as often has how often do you shower, but it's up there.

MN had different guidelines for the FWR board, and TRAs could contact MNHQ on twitter [in fact were encouraged to do so] and make whatever reports they wanted to make, on twitter and then women on here would get banned without any actual knowledge of why.

I believe in supporting women. I believe you can support women just fine without being a dick to someone about it.

There is a difference between ‘x makes me uncomfortable and I’d like a safe space to talk about why’ and ‘x is really f’d up anyone who thinks otherwise is a child abusing paedo / in league with Hillary Clinton and her human trafficking super cabal’

I don’t think it’s very difficult to work out why some people get banned and which don’t… (although the professionally outraged will rage!)
