What food/drink are you absolutely obsessed with?

I've had an obsession with boba milk tea for a few years now and I feel like I'm going to turn into a ball of tapioca if I have one more.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has any weird or major food/drink obsessions Grin

Dunk19 · 05/10/2024 20:42

Iced coffee

UglyNess · 05/10/2024 20:43

Tuna mayo. Basic but I love it. In a sandwich, on a wrap, on rice, with pasta. Yum.

GoodVibesHere · 05/10/2024 20:45

Red onion chutney...I love it in any sandwich

Makelikeatreeandleaf · 05/10/2024 20:46

Currently Trebor soft mints.

I find I go in cycles of food that I'm obsessed with. I'll eat it regularly for months then will somehow forget about it for ages.

Current obsession is Waitrose tzatziki and Charlie Bigham's fish pie.
Not together I hasten to add....

Diet Coke 😫 I know it’s absolute rot but I can’t go without it!

KindOf · 05/10/2024 20:48

This sounds uncharacteristically virtuous, but I’m having a kombucha moment. A friend has offered me some of her scoby, and I’m going to start making my own.

You really really should try and get off that stuff

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 05/10/2024 20:49

Pineapple Fanta, you can only get it in shops that sell American soda. It's addictive

Mmmkaay · 05/10/2024 20:50

Truffle flavour anything, but especially cheese. Can't get enough of it.

LindorDoubleChoc · 05/10/2024 20:50

La Vielle Ferme rose wine.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 05/10/2024 20:50

Dark red wines.

GreenMarigold · 05/10/2024 20:51

Rhubarb and ginger jam.

Malvala · 05/10/2024 20:51

Bulletproof decaf coffee (illy coffee from the moka, hot water and Kerrygold butter)

I have one every morning and I could drink a litre of the stuff.

Same, except Coke Zero. Also, I have no intention of stopping!

La Vielle Ferme rose wine.

I was going to say the Aldi version of this, the Petit Poulet. I've not actually tried the " proper" one but the Aldi one is so drinkable.

sprigatito · 05/10/2024 20:56

Jubblies. Ice generally, especially since I started having hot flushes, ice pops, ice lollies, frozen smoothies, but jubblies are my first love.

BarbaraVineFan · 05/10/2024 20:57

Laoganma fermented black beans in chili. Sounds awful, tastes divine. I had some today in a toasted ham and Brie sandwich. It's great with scrambled eggs, with peanut butter, in ramen. Wonderful stuff

Porridge - yes it's a bit odd but I think I'm actually addicted! Can't get enough of the stuff.

@LindorDoubleChoc I'm currently drinking a glass of La veille ferme rose!

mitogoshigg · 05/10/2024 21:01

@EineReiseDurchDieZeit

The tropical Fanta is available many places even Lidl had it through summer

purplespink · 05/10/2024 21:02

Ooh good thread!

The food/drinks I eat every day and I can't see living without currently are:

Aldi apple and blackcurrant double strength diluent juice
Nescafé gold blend coffee
Poached eggs

I would honestly say I'm addicted to these foods. I love lots of other things that I have regularly ie galaxy ripples or pineapple, but I honestly wouldn't be able to function without that specific coffee and I'd be very annoyed if I didn't have those three things every day. A year ago, the answer to this question would've been Diet Coke, chocolate and red wine.
