I've had an obsession with boba milk tea for a few years now and I feel like I'm going to turn into a ball of tapioca if I have one more.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has any weird or major food/drink obsessions Grin

French butter with the crunchy salt crystals on proper baguette

Blue cheese

Eggs

Hot sauce - Cholula especially

Sourdough toast with marmite and crunchy peanut butter

Jelly tots 😑

Ramen with super salty broth, kimchi and noodles cooked to mush

Paprika crisps - Pringles and a euro brand called crunchips especially

Tea

I don’t eat all of these every day or even every week but as soon as I hit 70 odd, I will mainlining them all, all day long.

Laoganma fermented black beans in chili. Sounds awful, tastes divine. I had some today in a toasted ham and Brie sandwich. It's great with scrambled eggs, with peanut butter, in ramen. Wonderful stuff

Hiya, I've tried several times to use your link, but I'm getting nowhere.

Is it a link to a recipe or a product?

Thanks

Roast pork, pork ribs, crackling, chocolate, olives, rice, scrambled egg, pork belly.

Yes.

Pork is nature's perfect food. Along with chocolate.

Thin crumpets, sandwiched together with Seriously strong cheddar spready and spicy mayo (i forget which one) and then done in the panini press til crispy on the outside and soft and cheesey spicy in the middle.

Doesn't work with thick crumpets, too claggy.

Harissa on everything, ever.

If you like thin crumpet, have you tried pikelets?

Kimchi. Addictive. Bought some from Holland and Barrett, had a go at making my own and I have two litres of the stuff that is every bit as good.

Ooof, I love it!

JustDiedInYourArmsTonight · 06/10/2024 01:15

Lightly sautéed sugar snap peas.
I sauté them in a garlic butter, and very finely shredded red pepper, fresh ground black pepper & Himalayan salt.
Just before serving up, a add a slash of Worcestershire sauce...

Alpro cherry yogurt

"Tea" made with fresh mint from the garden.
Drink that much of it, my oh has several tubs of it especially for me.

Kallo beetroot & balsamic rice cakes. As soon as I open the packet, the gorgeous smell hits me and I can hardly wait to spread whatever on it, then close my eyes as the flavours play music on my tongue.

Slow (about 30-40 mins) fried sweet Spanish onion . . It feels like it takes forever, but oh so good on a burger in a toasted bun.

Chai latte.... I buy it in bulk, as individual packs in supermarkets are too expensive.
I only have one very large mug in the evening... my last beverage of the day.
Settles me down just right for sleep.
I also stir in a heaped teaspoon of slippery elm extract... it so helps my digestive system to carry me though the night.

There's prob more, but these are my main passions at present

Very specific to NY but a fresh NY bagel, scooped out, toasted and topped with tuna salad and caviar. And I was doing it before Bethany bloody Frankel.

SapphireSeptember · 06/10/2024 01:23

Pumpkin spice hot chocolate. Has to be Starbucks as it actually tastes of pumpkin. Recently moved to a town with no Starbucks and I'm sad about it! The place I moved from had one close down and we were without one for ages, then another one opened in what was a Sainsbury's cafe. I'm going back to visit my friend soon and I'm going to drink as many as possible!

Attelina · 06/10/2024 01:29

Mini wrap with pan fried sliced halloumi cheese, red and yellow peppers and onion. Place on half the wrap, add some baby spinach leaves and chopped coriander and seal wrap with a mini wrap Crimpit.

Air fry for a minute.

I sometimes take one out with me and eat coke as I joke every day for a few hours with my dogs.

It's delicious hot or cold.

I miss the little waffle-shaped ones in the tube packet!

Yes yes yes! My addiction started decades ago with those! They were so fruity and hard and lasted ages..... sigh

Love a pikelet, only Waitrose does them near me and they're often sold out :(

I followed a youtube vid I think. I wish I'd written it down as it is good stuff. It's basically sauerkraut with a tonne of spices. I can feel it doing me good.

Chocolatelover13 · 06/10/2024 08:11

Laderach chocolate (dark chocolate with any type of nut)
Black Earl Grey tea.

Need to wean myself off the chocolate as it’s £££.

"Mini wrap with pan fried sliced halloumi cheese, red and yellow peppers and onion. Place on half the wrap, add some baby spinach leaves and chopped coriander and seal wrap with a mini wrap Crimpit"
That sounds ace. How can I create without an air fryer?
No crimpet either but reckon that could be overcome.

Can you explain about the anemia and crunchy things?
Is it like pica?

Currently tabbouleh and fatoush
Always Tea.
Never drank a cup I didn't like!
I always crave pasta and cheese.

Empire apples - divine

Jewnicorn · 06/10/2024 09:50

figs baked with blue cheese and a drizzle of honey.
Greek yoghurt with peanut butter, honey and banana.
sourdough with peanut butter, banana and a drizzle of honey (despite the theme I don’t actually like honey on it’s own).

Tea. So much tea.

Bamba (the original peanut one)

and as a seriously unhealthy treat - instant ramen, pretty much all flavours, the spicier the better. Sometimes with an egg and a couple of slices of plastic cheese mixed it.

JazzieC · 06/10/2024 09:51

I'm reading this thread with a hangover and I want to try everything on it!

I love any kind of smoked fish, but especially hot smoked salmon.
Any chocolate with hazelnuts - especially Ferraro Rocher.
Someone upthread mentioned Pip & Nut sweet and salty peanut butter - totally addictive!
Mini eggs - can't cope when they go out of season.
Gyoza dumplings
