Sometimes we forget the small wins with the grind of daily life. I am in a positive mood, the best thing to happen to me was being accepted by an NHS dentist along with my 20 and 22 year old kids😀So,so happy.

Finding a childminder who's literally around the corner 😁 I live in a village and don't drive so was stressing out about travelling for childcare

Having my third son! What a little blessing he is.

Reconnecting with my mother after 6 years of no contact. Baby steps but we are getting there.

My biopsies after mastectomy and lymph removal show zero cancer ;) my DH is alive and recovering after a stroke.

@Eyerollexpert that is quite an achievement these days OP! Hooray!!

You are absolutely right in the fact that the grind and stress of life can be all-consuming and can eclipse all/any positive things.

So for me, like a pp, it was passing a very tough exam in June first time round ( and that I had thought I failed). Well Done @travailtotravel 👏 I hope you celebrated!

I have had a really shit year but it improved when I handed in my notice at work. I’ve now got another job but when I handed in my notice, I had nothing to go to.

My mental health was so poor and it really is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I started the year feeling trapped in my job for another year or 2 but I realised it was damaging me beyond repair and it simply wasn’t worth it!

@Maddy70 That’s fantastic news. 💐💐💐

Some lovely things to read, what a nice thread idea.

Mine is the safari DS, I went on, which I'd mooted before covid.
He did his alevels this summer and we went early July and had such a great time.

Getting my cat back. She disappeared 2 days ago, some angels found her and took her to a vet.

I'm not really sure about best thing that's happened to me this year. Maybe passing my 1st ever masters module, and with high marks. I'm following as this is a great idea for a positive thread. Something that has been lacking in my life of late.

Getting out to Australia in February with to see my DS1 (who met and married a lovely Aussie a couple of years ago)
We all went.. dh, my other three kids, DD2's husband and toddler (they all lived with us for a while and were best friends)
Two glorious weeks in the sunshine with the whole family together and it was just wonderful.

Now saving to go back in 2026, with a second baby in tow Grin

Pandaandpurple · 05/10/2024 10:22

My dog coming out of the puppy stages and becoming a (mostly) well behaved adult dog! 🐶 I’d also say, seeing my best friend who was over from NZ for the first time in years.

worriedgal · 05/10/2024 10:23

We have had the worst and the best news this year.
Dh unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer but now he is cancer free 🎉

Echobelly · 05/10/2024 10:27

Son's bar mitzvah a few weeks ago. He had ADHD so learning his stuff would not have been easy for him, but he did brilliantly and the whole day was just wonderful.

RabbitsRock · 05/10/2024 10:31

Quitting drinking - I feel so so much better physically & mentally & have lost 3 stone so far.

I was adopted at birth and my biological sister found me.

RabbitsRock · 05/10/2024 10:55

squashyhat would you mind posting a link to where you stayed?

I fell in love with my dh all over again after 25 years of marriage.

Our youngest is grown now and off doing their own thing. So we've made the most of it and we have been going away, enjoying days out or even just spending the whole weekend in bed.
