Thanks everyone. 🩷
I'm boiling a piece of chicken with potato and tomato to make a simple broth. I'm going to strain it and mix in a touch of miso paste so my mum has something savoury to sip on until she can eat tomorrow. DC are over tired... baby has finally fallen asleep, but Havoc is going 9 rounds. 🤦‍♀️
.

Umanresources · 17/09/2024 23:42

@Mumtobabyhavoc don’t forget to look after yourself as well! 💐

bizzey · 17/09/2024 23:55

Good news @Mumtobabyhavoc .
Another one who had good washing and drying weather today !

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/09/2024 00:07

I've just added miso and it smells divine! About to strain the broth, but sharing a pic. Don't you just love simple food that satisfies? 🩷

Alas ...I am not with you you .
.
and it has gone past midnight here in the UK .....soo ...cup of tea and chocolate biscuits it is then ..for me ..🤣🤣

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/09/2024 04:53

Moon tonight. It's a super moon, harvest moon, the corn moon AND in partial eclipse on the top. Had no idea when I took the pic.

And that might be Saturn and Jupiter on the right.

Umanresources · 18/09/2024 14:47

Fabulous photo @Mumtobabyhavoc . I could see the moon so clearly last night through the conservatory roof. I’ll have to have another look tonight and see if I can get a picture myself. I love miso soup. We used to go to a Japanese restaurant which served Dobinmushi. One of the owners of the restaurant was also the server and she explained how to eat and drink the soup. I loved the ritual of it. Her husband was the chef and we used to watch the sushi and sashimi being prepared. I think it’s my favourite cuisine and we are very lucky to have a delivery and takeaway service from another Japanese restaurant.

I wish I had that beautiful moonlight last night to help me in the stupid whim I did !

Doing a big sort out.
Found some sun kissed bronzing body moisturiser on my legs (yeah ..that one !)

I have woken up this morning with streaks down my legs that look like I have had a dodgy tummy holiday in Turkey instead 🤣🤣😲!!

Ohhh my god !!

Well at least I know it does make the skin brown !

Just not how I wanted it. 🤣🤣..

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/09/2024 17:00

Uman, that sounds delicious. I had to look that up. We're pacific rim here and have a lot of asian cuisine readily available. I love it, too.
Bizzey, I just binned an old bottle of very expensive self tanner I bought at Sephora. Figured I'd get same results.

Was up 4am-6am with baby who has a fever (still). Is active and nursing, so not super concerned, although Havoc now has d and vomited last night. 🤦‍♀️
Obv staying home from gymnastics today and won't take either to pre-school this week.

mathanxiety · 18/09/2024 17:45

Fantastic moon photo, havoc. I hope your mum will have a speedy and uncomplicated recovery.

penguinsa wherever you are, hope you're OK.

Another sunny, warm day here. There was dew on the car this morning, very autumnal.

Lemonsandlemonade · 18/09/2024 19:16

Oh no havoc Hope DC fell better soon. Hope your mum is doing ok.

Penguinsa hope you're ok.

DandyDandylion · 18/09/2024 22:27

All this food is making me very envious, not sure mine is news worthy today. We too have had a glorious full moon tonight but I don’t have a photo. Here is tonight’s sunset instead.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 18/09/2024 23:50

Gorgeous! ☺️

Deathraystare · 19/09/2024 16:11

@bizzey
Around Stamford Brook but we ended up going through Ravenscourt Park which is where I had to admit defeat and sit down on a bench. One of my lovely friends came back for me but I was finished!!! I sat there for at least another hour!

Was an interesting walk and along with other walkabouts noticeable how many French people lived around the area. Hmm. I mean people of note - printers, writers etc.

Rewarded myself with a little tub of ice-cream complete with chocolate flake from a van and then off to the Polish centre for tea and a much needed wee! Also a reminder to go back to the Polish centre as they do those lovely pierogi with sauerkraut and mushrooms. I once went in the blazing heat and had a lovely cold soup - I think Clodnik or something.

I also have to avoid self tanner. There is always a very noticeable patch not rubbed in. I will be pale and uninteresting instead!

@Mumtobabyhavoc

Blimey always an illness in your house! My teacher brother and SIL always used to catch something from school. I was the only family member not to go down with a cold at Christmas!!! Lovely moon photo.

@DandyDandylion
Lovely sunset!

Deathraystare · 19/09/2024 16:13

The porter's brother (also a porter) brought my phone back (not the lost one). He put the sim in for me so happily I have a functioning phone but am still hoping that they contact me (Lost Property office) about the lost one and say it is there.

Deathraystare · 19/09/2024 16:26

Sorry @Ohdearyme72 left you off the list! What is word feud???

mathanxiety · 19/09/2024 17:51

havoc I hope everyone is on the mend.

Today it will hit 90°F here. I'm making vegetable soup in the instant pot for dinner tonight. Deathray your comment about pierogis means I now have them on the shopping list as I'll have mushrooms left over from the soup.

DandyDandylion · 19/09/2024 18:05

I don’t work in a school but I and everyone around me has the sniffles. I think it’s just the time of year. If we were starting university I’d say we had freshers flu.

MissConductUS · 19/09/2024 18:58

Havoc, I hope your little ones are doing better, and that the vomiting isn't due to a stomach virus. Those are the devil.

Math, it's been unseasonably hot here in New York too. I've had the AC on everyday this week.

Penguinsa, I hope you're resting post op. Take the pain meds.

I'm up to my eyeballs doing my 2025 budget. I find it hard to get too fussed about it as I likely won't be working for most of next year, so if the budget is wrong, it will be someone else's problem.

The water level is still way down at the reservoir for the construction, which is quite noisy. There are lots of blokes in High Viz doing various construction things. The good news is that when I see them they are very polite and friendly.

Mumtobabyhavoc · 19/09/2024 22:37

Baby's temp went down to normal for a bit this morning, but then crept up, so I gave Tylenol. I generally allow a fever to a certain point without meds, but it's just too tricky with little ones as things can go downhill fast and when fever increases appetite and thirst tend to decrease, another thing to watch. As least as adults we can force down a meal/water. I do, tentatively, think they've turned the corner. 🤞

A hospital ER doc on duty phoned this morning to advise urine culture results for my mum's sample when we were there Sunday, to query how she was feeling now, ask if any uti symptoms and if we had any questions or concerns. 🤯

DandyDandylion · 20/09/2024 07:42

Havoc, I used to find frozen things good for getting calories and fluids into my young dc when they had a temperature. Anything like ice cream, lollies or frozen fruit puree. Fingers crossed everything will settle down soon.

Penguinsa, hopefully your silence is a sign you have finally been able to have your surgery and are resting up.

I am also interested to know what word feud is, love a puzzle. Had a lovely day yesterday making the most of the sunny weather. We will be under a weather warning for thunder and lightning at the weekend though.

Umanresources · 20/09/2024 14:02

@Penguinsa hope you are well on the way to recovery.

@Mumtobabyhavoc hoping your mum and baby continue to improve health wise.

We've just got a new inflatable bed for my daughter for when the family come next month. My OH inflated it in the living room. Oh my goodness it’s huge. I’m not sure it will fit into the smallest bedroom, which my daughter uses as an office. She might have to sleep in the living room for a few nights!

Mumtobabyhavoc · 20/09/2024 17:48

Dandy, that's a good tip. Thanks for sharing that!
Uman, air mattresses can be surprisingly comfortable!

Penguinsa good thoughts to you. 🩷

it's half sunny here and the air is very cool and damp.
Moon was gorgeous again last night.
Kids seem mostly on the up, so took them for pie (well, for me) and a cookie (again, me) at Pie Hole late afternoon yesterday. Celebrating baby has been on the outside just as long as was on the inside. 😄

Hope all has gone well @Penguinsa

@Deathraystare the jewellers who made my wedding and engagement rings lived in Ravenscourt Park. I have lovely memories of going back to their studio when DC1 was tiny to commission another piece of jewellery as a gift from DH. We wandered through the park and stopped at a Polish cafe to feed newborn DC1. We got 2 more pieces of jewellery before they retired, so the piece DH got me for DC 4 came from somewhere else entirely.
