I'd imagine by her FB page more appealing by the day. Either to get him onboard or deflect herself.

I'd just be happy for her to lose her seat here.

prettybird · 29/06/2024 13:21

Re Suella Braverman, funny how every other? other politicians changed their FB profile to take "MP" out of their name after Parliament was dissolved, while Suella seems to think leaving it in but putting "Parliament is dissolved. I am not an MP" into the info on her profile is sufficient HmmAngry That "info" doesn't show on individual posts Angry

You know how there is particular scenario about Rayner taking over that has been touted by certain mumsnetters over the past few days?

Now I'm not for one second suggesting it is a Tory script, but in an amazing coincidence the Tories have just posted this:

Angela really scares the shit out of them, I am all for it

It's not just Braverman -Truss is very keen, he did after all celebrate her budget. Mogg, Hayes, Jenkins, Gullis etc would all welcome Farage with open arms if it meant they could stay on the gravy train.

Notonthestairs · 29/06/2024 13:30

The funny thing is that I was quite ambivalent about Rayner until the beginning of the year.

After the tidal wave of attention they threw at her I decided to listen to a few interviews- find out what was supposedly so terrifying. Articulate, funny, down to earth, thoughtful. Not reliant on slogans.

I am now quite certain she'll make a good job of responding to the issues of housing & homelessness.

ZonderRishi · 29/06/2024 13:32

I totally agree @Notonthestairs

VoteOutToHelpOut · 29/06/2024 13:34

Yes, I have really warmed to her too.

Notonthestairs · 29/06/2024 13:34

I also really like the fact that they are picturing Gordon Brown - nice to be reminded that there were individuals with integrity in politics. I wish Alastair Darling was still alive to witness this election - he was another good egg.

Evenstar · 29/06/2024 13:40

My New European arrived this morning (it was me that posted about it originally) the bingo poster is a thing of beauty 😍

Alistair Darling was escoriated for warning that there was a risk of a financial crisis ( beyond the collapse of Northern Rock) literally weeks before it actually happened Confused

Exactly this.

She's much better at speaking than KS - and that's probably what scares the Tory's. He'll get in - do a good job with her by his side. Next GE she takes over whilst they are doing well - Labour gets in and she'll be hard to get out.

That's my current PM dream for this country anyway!

It was only 10/6 that Braverman was talking about welcoming Farage into the Tory Party and finding some way to work with Reform. How is that looking to her now I wonder?

Edited

I laughed at her statement. She really thinks he can be accommodated. Farage put her straight pretty quickly. Delulu by Braverman

Me too, I have a soft spot for Gordon Brown Yy Alistair Darling was a good chap.
I have really warmed to Angela Rayner she is a very good speaker she has my admiration for not clumping Mordaunt during the first debate.

BestIsWest · 29/06/2024 14:26

Also a fan of both Gordon Brown and Angela Rayner.

TimeForRishiByeByes · 29/06/2024 14:36

Don't normally post on this thread - but I thought you would appreciate my name! Currently watching teletubbies with my daughter.
I said to my husband today I am genuinely looking forward to the election for the first time!
Going to take my daughter to the vote and explain it to her as if she would understand it's such an important thing.

Mine too. I really rate her, she reminds me so much of Barbara Castle who should really have been PM. The Tories were terrified of her too.

Barbara was a warrior, Angela has the same colouring I knew she reminded me of someone & couldn’t place who thank you Blossom

BIossomtoes · 29/06/2024 14:51

She was a warrior. It’s thanks to her that we got the Equal Pay Act. She’d have loved Angela.

Oh the irony. All their attempts of trying to bring Angela Rayner down has actually resulted in an increase in her popularity. So sweet 😁

Which one is it?

The one about Westminster school, rather than Westminster politics.
