Can anyone come up with a witty and disparaging name for my mates’ Election Night WhatsApp? We’ve suggested Paddy Ashdown’s Hat after his infamous comment about exit polls. The Fall of the House of Tory but it seems to tempt fate. Larry’s Latest Rescue. None of them quite seem witty enough. We all went to a university where the 5 a side team names would get me a ban if I typed them, so the bar is high.

Trying again.

Outrageous. There should be some action you can take.

Notonthestairs · 02/07/2024 21:49

Good grief, the Conservative are hitting new lows.

Vote Labour or the cat gets woken

@bombastix I don't think he's going to be scratching around for a pot to piss in, he's pretty much landed gentry, related to Queen Victoria and has been caught fiddling his expenses. Things might be a bit tight in his house if he loses though because his wife ill lose her £35k a year job working as his secretary.

They’ve got Big Dog out of storage!

https://x.com/Conservatives/status/1808236506416664967

Speaking in central London, Mr Johnson said: “Is it not, therefore, the height of insanity, if these polls are right, that we are about to give Labour a super majority, which they will use to make us nothing but the punk of Brussels, taking EU law by dictation with no say on how that law is made?”

He added: “And yet, Labour are so cocky that they’re barely, they’re barely, they’re so complacent, they’re so slug, they’re barely complex at concealing their agenda anymore.

“And we can see what it is: racking up taxes on pensions, on property, persecuting private enterprise, attacking private education and private healthcare, with all the pointless extra burden that will place on the taxpayer.

“And all the time, poor old Starmer is so terrified of disobeying Left-wing dogma that he’s reluctant to explain the difference between a man and a woman. And he just, he just sits there with his mouth opening and shouting like a stunned mullet.”

What a load of twaddle. Poorly expressed twaddle at that.
How is this sort of nonsense allowed?

We need to protect private property, private enterprise, private education, private healthcare.. ( I paraphrase)

They have no idea what a very small part of the population this could appeal to: they remind me of parents at the school one of my DC won a 100% scholarship to: by and large nice people, but with absolutely no idea that the world they inhabited bore virtually no resemblance to the lives of ordinary people.

Notonthestairs · 02/07/2024 22:06

Wonder how much £ the Tory donors had to stump up to get him out this evening? A month in Mystique?

No Truss to complete the triptych?

newnamethanks · 02/07/2024 22:15

Who let the dogs out? The bloody Labrador is back, fresh from the groomer, cocking his leg over the general public as usual. Hopefully he'll be bored quickly and bounce home again.

Ummmm, did Big Dog himself have nothing to do with the circumstances that led to the UK having no say in the EU?

bombastix · 02/07/2024 22:24

I would imagine he’s getting his narrative in first before Labour come in and see exactly what was done.

Johnson can go lower in your estimation, and he knows that

Evenstar · 02/07/2024 22:27

No sympathy for Carrie here either, she went out with Harry Cole (Sun politics editor and Paul Staines aka Guido Fawkes before Boris. She clearly kept trading up to acquire second hand power, no matter how repellent the men were.
