Try a few newsagents?

We got from our local Co op. For quite a while after Brexit I would pick it up off the bottom shelf and put it in front of the Daily Mail.
Another long long time lurker, from pre Brexit, Westminstenders etc. Really really appreciate these threads.
My daughter is studying Languages at University…the post Brexit shenanigans of getting a visa to study in France have been an expensive nightmare for her and has made me so so angry all over again…

Well done on your newspaper manoeuvring!

I've sent my DH out to look for one, he's not had any luck so far.

.

I thought that was a picture of him walking through Gatwick Duty Free, given up already.

I thought about getting snacks in here but I'm too superstitious.

L1ttledrummergirl · 02/07/2024 13:57

I like the Beaconsfield services, they have some amazing food choices for a service station. Dd will detour there when in the area for either pizza or one of the other food varieties.

I don't recall it ever looking that empty though.

Are you Bridget Christie ?

countrygirl99 · 02/07/2024 14:07

DH has a fried who is a very successful session musician. He used to be booked for gigs and recording sessions all over Europe. Brexit was really awful for him.

Isabel Oakeshott stands by her man

@IsabelOakeshott ‼️Wow. Tory party sinks to new depths by secretly installing a load of paper candidates to stand for @reformparty_uk then getting them to cry “racism” and “bigotry” at the last minute. WE SEE YOU.

There was a spectacularly bad tempered interview with Richard Tice this morning on the radio

ZonderRishi · 02/07/2024 15:22

I've gone and lost that site that shows a spread of different vote predictions, including yougov and electoral calculus and all those. Please can someone remind me of the link?

Get well soon @cardibach

My (new) constituency isn't on the list either @user8800

Postal vote fiasco now being discussed on R4. I'm having nightmares of close results being contested by the labour and reform losing parties.

I'm having nightmares this is the precursor to the Trump playbook being deployed in the UK

InMySpareTime · 02/07/2024 15:25

Are there stats on numbers of candidates dropping out/being deselected between standing for a seat and the date of election?
It seems this election there are a lot of names that will be on polling papers that aren't with their party any more.

If you are thick enough to be fooled by the tories then

a) you must be a fascist
b) you must be a fucking stupid fascist at that

Where Faragey-baby ?

Covid? My manager has it and is off with exactly the same symptoms.

Almost anything can be covid - but also can be almost anything…
I'm not going anywhere while I feel shit so shan’t bother sending for tests.
It’s an idea though, thanks.

The snacks don’t denote confidence, just a need for midnight sustenance!

This does rather feed into/is fed by the narrative that Reform fucked up the vetting "because of the Tories" (don't help him !!). Although given past performance (my previous post notwithstanding) I'd remind folks of Hanlons razor.

Eating crisps is one way if staying awake when there's a lull in the action.

I’m rather partial to a crisp sandwich especially if I can get my hands on Tayto crisps unfortunately my local Tesco stopped doing the Irish food section (sad face photograph in local the press)

Heavenssakes · 02/07/2024 15:54

Don't think so @RishisLeavingDo @ZonderRishi , I too was looking for that site, mentioned in these fast moving threads, which has the polls results for maybe 8 different polling companies, thanks.

I'm in a marginal constituency, and feel slighty sick with the endless wait.. feels like this elections been going on for months.

Heavenssakes · 02/07/2024 15:56

Sorry, sorry just looked at Tactical Vote, and it does now have multiple poll results.

user8800 · 02/07/2024 15:58

I favour a chip cob (plenty of butter) for the prefect snack

Double carbing 👍 very good for hangovers too
(Ketchup/mayo optional)

user8800 · 02/07/2024 15:59

See also: fish finger cob
You can posh it up with rocket and tartare sauce 😁
