I like that Swinney has matched his tie to the set.

Piggywaspushed · 20/06/2024 20:39

Fiona is being way more aggressive to Swinney.

Piggywaspushed · 20/06/2024 20:49

It's interesting that these two haven't gone on full attack at the other parties but speak about their own parties and policies. I fully expect Rishi to just attack. I hope Fiona reins him in.

cardibach · 20/06/2024 20:50

Swinney isn’t as good at answering a direct question as Flynn. He’s very waffley.

It’ll be interesting to see what she’s like with Starmer. I wonder if it’s because John Swinney is a current leader of part of the UK, Ed Davey is at the very best going to be leader of a small opposition.

The justice system is one thing that is broken; this point has been coming for years.

England doesn't really do "justice". It does "law" instead. There may be some points in common, but that will probably be an accident of using the same language.

Justice is available to all (that's what makes it justice). The law is available to those who pay.

So the UK can have load and loads of "laws" about this that and the other. But if you can't enforce them, then do they exist ?

A good way of putting it.

The laws on treason and corruption have not been enforced in recent years, for example.

So STARmer is on at 9, I take it. Half time, so checking in.

I reckon that Sunak is in for a hard time with this audience. He'll get tetchy and fail.

placemats · 20/06/2024 20:56

Where in the country is this being held?

Piggywaspushed · 20/06/2024 20:59

York.

Piggywaspushed · 20/06/2024 21:21

Oh,a Duffield question. And KS got applause. Well answered, I thought.

The question was clever because she didn't leak her viewpoint.

Has no one asked him about the Post Office scandal yet @Piggywaspushed

You mean todays scandal of the data leak ?

bombastix · 20/06/2024 21:23

Keir doing well. A bit robot at the start. But better when he can talk about things he cares about.

Lots of priestly hands!

placemats · 20/06/2024 21:24

Track record on rent payment question is really good.

I agree he's doing well. Particularly with the more in common stuff

Private schools again. (yawn)

Yes it was well answered.

bombastix · 20/06/2024 21:26

To be honest it’s going well. They are asking good specific questions. So the perception is “this guy can do something”. Not “fuck this guy he can’t do anything” (which may come later…)

I think there were predictions of a hung Parliament a few months ago.

I guess that poster hasn't checked in to the campaign or the news since then.

Yeah. And they didn’t have any basis in reality then, let alone now 😆

cakeorwine · 20/06/2024 21:28

Is this live?

Or is there going to be a delay ....just in case

Where in the country is this being held?

York

bombastix · 20/06/2024 21:29

It can only be better than Grimsby

placemats · 20/06/2024 21:29

Really liked his answer regarding rents. Obviously working towards home ownership but putting in valuable protection for renters

Oooff what a first question for Sunak 🤭

TokyoSushi · 20/06/2024 21:29

Oh Rishi, like a lamb to the slaughter!

bombastix · 20/06/2024 21:29

Bloody hell

Piggywaspushed · 20/06/2024 21:30

placemats · 20/06/2024 21:25

Yes it was well answered.

Not according to some on MN, who are literally never satisfied.

bombastix · 20/06/2024 21:30

Kevin was it?
