Daring revelation about Sunken (I'll keep that autocorrect) being a sugar fiend. He may be skinny but he should watch out for the type 2 Diabetes

Craig Williams statement

He should be sacked

Just watched Rigby giving Starmer a really hard time & Sunak a really easy one. Really biased.

It definitely was! Sunak would have completely fallen apart if faced with the kind of questioning Starmer got. Keir handled it with substantially better humour than Rishi handled some of the audiences quips!

L1ttledrummergirl · 12/06/2024 21:13

Ds2 wants to buy a home- he's on slightly more than minimum wage but can only get a mortgage with our bank for £85k. Stamp duty starts at £250k so this change will only help wealthier first time buyers. The cheapest property in our town is £200k so he won't be buying for a few more decades at this rate.

Sunaks in cloud cuckoo land.

Fucking hell. He's just been told that he's broken the trust with the nation over the covid parties and his dereliction of duties on dday didn't help. Sorry he says, then immediately lies to us about labour planning to tax pensions.

How thick is he!

TooBigForMyBoots · 12/06/2024 22:13

Very, very thick!

BIossomtoes · 12/06/2024 22:20

He looks like he’s absolutely had enough. He just wants it to be over now. I’m trying to resist feeling a tiny bit sorry for him.

Resist @BIossomtoes , resist! He deserves zero sympathy.

Come on, poor Rish! He needs a fund raiser...

I fell asleep and missed the audience grilling! Last thing I remember was Rishi talking about Haribos.

Enjoyed Starmer’s performance but missed the last answer as watching on my phone and it froze. Returned to a scathing comment from a young man with a beard - what was that about?

I loved his response to private schools. I feel sorry for the man asking the question that he may have to pull his kids out but Starmer’s right (bar the very few), all
parents work hard and have aspirations and our state schools should be able to accommodate that. And on that note I will go to work where in a dept of 8, we have one unqualified teacher (was an academic mentors but Head has convinced her to teach lessons for us) and 2 cover supervisors. No appointments for Sept either.

I think Rigby gave Sunak an easier time but perhaps she just allowed him to hang himself so to speak?

Starmer certainly came out fighting and was nothing like as shy as he seemed to be in the first debate.

I agree re Sunak.

I suspect this format suited him better. The 45 secs only allowed for sound bites and I don’t get the impression that’s his style. Last night he was able to give much more considered full responses.

Its only fair to give Sunak and easier time. He has managed to ensure his party is annihilated at the election, so one ought to give him a break.

He deserves it, poor thing. I mean he didn't even have a Sky dish as a kid.

cakeorwine · 13/06/2024 07:44

Just checking in.

3 weeks to go.

IClaudine · 13/06/2024 08:02

Coming on to say the same @cakeorwine ! 🥳🥳🥳

prettybird · 13/06/2024 08:13

Nightmare scenario for Sunak: the Conservatives get very nearly wiped out at the election but by some miracle he retains his seat (albeit with a vastly reduced majority). Shock

He'd therefore have to resign his seat before he could run off to California. Sad

Diddums Wink

Do you think that Akshata and the girls will wait for him or will they bugger off early so that the girls are there for the start of the new school year? Hmm

prettybird · 13/06/2024 08:26

BIossomtoes · 13/06/2024 08:19

That's quite some rant Shock

Unfortunately they walk among us at least they do in England Hmm

IClaudine · 13/06/2024 08:28

Crikey, he is a right little Cassandra, isn't he?

The Torygraph must be desperately worried and are trying to scare their readers into voting Tory.

Having said that, Farage was on LBC banging on about broken promises on immigration. As I hurled the radio at the wall I did have a chilling premonition of Farage as PM if Labour fuck it all up in government.

Notonthestairs · 13/06/2024 08:29

Thank you - Allister Heath's columns have got progressively more drama llama-ry since Truss was given the boot.

pointythings · 13/06/2024 08:34

That column summed up: 'Waaaaaah my fwends are losing but I still know lots of big words'.

BIossomtoes · 13/06/2024 08:49

It reminded me of John Laurie rushing about crying “We’re doomed!”.
