Sorry about that.
Now I have your attention , could I remind you that tomorrow is the last day to register to vote.

One of the most sinister things going on in this election is the number of people going " No point in voting/ They're all the same/I don't feel in favour of any of them/it won't make any difference" (Is this a bot influenced campaign?)

Why?
Because if you're an extremist party/cabal, in order to get some power in a democracy, you need disillusioned people who don't bother voting: a high turnout will virtually guarantee that extremists are v unlikely to win. It's really that simple.

Why did we get Truss crashing the economy? Because the only people voting her in were mostly elderly, well off, and more right wing than most Tory voters.

Want to do something powerful in this election?
GET YOUNG PEOPLE TO REGISTER TO VOTE.

Get them to get their friends to vote.
Tell them why it's important: there's no abstaining- either you vote, or you're nodding along and giving your consent to the outcome. Vote for something, vote against something, but vote , because all that is needed for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing.

If , say, you've got 2 DC/neicephews/young co-workers, and you convince them, and they convince 2 more, that's 6 more people, most/ all of whom will vote against extremists.

"BBC Question Time: analysis of guests over nine years suggests an overuse of right-wing voices"

No shit Sherlock.

I was wondering g if any one has made an up to date Bingo GE card?

Please 🙏 could you share if so? I am not very good at doing that sort of thing, so forgive me being lazy!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 17/06/2024 10:53

If people are overseas voters you have to register to vote, then register as a postal voter from your overseas address. Otherwise they'll sent a regular voting card to your last uk registered address.

They don't do it for NI. Instead, they just say Do not vote DUP or TUV.😆

My Dc have struggled this Fathers Day too. Both are Autistic so it takes them longer to both access & process their feelings. Both are struggling atm. One has just started S6 (so lots of change, lots of tears). One had a false start at Uni last autumn & is trying to find the courage to try again. Their 'Father' took early retirement, now claims UC (no maintenance) & is on holiday (again)
I think this might be the year the penny drops. I'm desperately sad for them.

Repeat several times and write big and red!!

Its giving me flashbacks to May's "confidence and supply" wheeze 😨

Our incumbent Tory MP has a picture of her wearing her hi-vis back to front in her campaign leaflet.

For Scotland, Best for Britain have a blanket "Vote Labour" advice even if it's an SNP incumbent as that is supposedly the only way we'll get a voice in Westminster HmmAngry

mibbelucieachwell · 17/06/2024 13:35

@prettybird Ohhh! That's not on.
