I have a severe case of cat-envy. Thank you all for your lovely photos. Here's my now long-departed Max, still missed.

Will pay cat tax later when I can find a decent WiFi signal.

In the meantime, I wonder what might get swept under the carpet today whilst the media focuses on the news from across the pond?

itsgettingweird · 31/05/2024 06:59

I can add swan and cygnet tax!

Taken a few weeks ago as they had 7 last year but only 6 survived.

They have the same nest every year and at least once a year they cross the road and cause havoc 😂

itsgettingweird · 31/05/2024 07:00

My photo won't add?

Zonder · 31/05/2024 07:18

You'll have to strain to see my cat tax - it's dark and I'm still in bed, but at least she's here with me.

I can’t find any more pictures of neighbourcat for the cat tax so can I pay with a shot of a disgruntled pelican in the rain in St James’s Park, please?

Thanks for the new thread. I’m going around in a state of stunned disbelief at how crazy it all is, and we’ve still got weeks to go.

Loving the pelican! Cat tax attached. He’s feeling disgruntled; seems to be his default.

I'm feeling in a very skittish mood since the Trump verdicts.

Yeah
It's gonna get messy over there :(

Sir Patrick Vallance has endorsed Labour's mission for clean power by 2030.

In other news my leave for the 5th of July has been approved and DS is planning to stay up with me. Now to plan suitable snacks!

itsgettingweird · 31/05/2024 10:08

Watching the news this morning and Labour minister was saying very clearly that with great British energy bills would start to decrease and by the end of 5 years would be on average £300 cheaper per household.

It was very clear what they were setting out and the expected outcome.

But they were being challenged about how people are feeling cost of living now. What's their projected savings on energy.

Repeats above.

Asked question again and reworded but with empathise on bills now.

I like questioning and I like challenge. But I see an ever increasing challenge when Labour are clear about their plans for the future why the country won't be solved the day after they take over. It really worries me that even if they do in a term or 2 in office it'll never be recognised compared to the Tories running us down for 13 years before anyone said enough.

Withdrawn or been deselected?
I find it incredible that a media presenter hadn't checked his own output before deciding to stand for election - the clip was up within hours of him announcing his candidacy.

BIossomtoes · 31/05/2024 10:31

😂 Oh dear.

I really genuinely LOLed at this. Cackled out loud, in fact.

Back to LBC with his tail between his legs, then.

Tearful Tory staffers and also Iain Dale; time to quote Oscar Wilde on the death of Little Nell "You would have to have a heart of stone not to laugh. . ."

mibbelucieachwell · 31/05/2024 11:11

Morning all.

According to the coverage of the Trump court case it's considered unlikely that he'll go to jail as the security logistics and cost would be astronomical.

Another huge fine will surely sting though.

To be fair, what is there to like about Tunbridge Wells except the Common?

MrsMurphyIWish · 31/05/2024 11:25

A tale of two parties. Our Tory MP’s page is full of “Labour is …”, contrasting the Labour MP’s page never once mentions Conservatives, just hopes for the future.

I have never been there so no idea.

It's the place where Sunak boasted about diverting levelling up funds from poorer areas to more affluent ones.

Sir Patrick Vallance has endorsed Labour's mission for clean power by 2030.

To have been at press conferences most days with the worst Prime Minister of all time lying through his teeth and making his job more difficult, and have maintained a professional outlook, must have needed the patience of a saint.

Labour's plan needs intermediate steps. Especially on no more new petrol or diesel cars.
