Oh fuck off. The immigration numbers aren’t driven by asylum seekers and they aren’t illegal.
And the planes aren’t going either way.

And asylum seekers are not illegal immigrants. Angry

TokyoSushi · 04/06/2024 21:38

Thanks for clarifying everybody!

But obviously please still carry on thinking I am great because Furlough.

the80sweregreat · 04/06/2024 21:44

If labour had implemented furlough the conservatives would have said how bad it was!

Lifechangeahead · 04/06/2024 21:44

I actually think Rishi might be stamping his feet behind his podium. He’ll scream until he’s sick next.

what a rude, entitled man he is.

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2024 21:46

Ooohhhj boom their for Starmer.

We can't return 100,000 migrants who's claims who haven't processed.

That was a new angle I hadn't even considered - because they aren't illegal until processed and refused asylum.

cakeorwine · 04/06/2024 21:50

This is a very shouty debate

cardibach · 04/06/2024 21:50

Mainly from Sunak. He’s so aggressive.

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2024 21:52

He's also very bold apparently 🙄

Lifechangeahead · 04/06/2024 21:55

I wasn’t aware we were going to have heat pumps forcibly installed on 6 July.

They can come and do my house.

cardibach · 04/06/2024 22:02

Sunak has always spoken to someone who has said the opposite of what everyone else thinks. The armed forces are not supportive.

Cheguevarahamster · 04/06/2024 22:03

In other news - Seb Payne had failed to be selected as Tory candidate for Surrey Heath.
Ah bless.

He really can't catch a break can he!

Cheguevarahamster · 04/06/2024 22:08

Christ Sunak was awful.

cardibach · 04/06/2024 22:08

Going over to YouTube now to see what Campbell and Stewart thought of all that in a livestream. Not started yet though was supposed to start as soon as the debate ended.

cakeorwine · 04/06/2024 22:09

That format just seemed rushed. No chance to explore policies in detail. It was too combative

Cornettoninja · 04/06/2024 22:11

Poor choice of words ‘I’ll always have your back’.

Et tu, Brute?

BIossomtoes · 04/06/2024 22:12

My Dog at the end of that exhausting hour.

Sunak really should stop talking about fucking furlough. Having received no furlough pay and dh wages dropping to 80% we were fucked over.

When work came back, we did overtime to clear the backlog of bills and finally thought we were clear. We've been hit with a bill for overpayment of tax credits now so have to repay £2000.

Thanks for that Richi.

DuncinToffee · 04/06/2024 22:14

Glad I watched the football by the sounds of it Smile Off to catch up with this thread

Apparently Sunak paid for furlough all by himself!

IClaudine · 04/06/2024 22:15

Pretty much how I feel @BIossomtoes !

Starmer really managed to get under Sunak's skin at times. We need more of that.

Sunak's little smile at the end of his closing statement was sooooooo sincere.

@Lifechangeahead definite Violet Elizabeth Bott vibes from Sunak!

Heavenssakes · 04/06/2024 22:16

Other MN threads seem to think that Sunak 'won' because he was forcefull, and Starmer 'lost 'because he wasn't forceful/wasn't charismatic/was too bland.
JFC.
It's the future of our country, not a personality contest.
But then, what was I expecting from a country where a good slice of the population would vote for Johnson or Farage 'because they seem like good blokes to go down the pub with'. Rather than people with sound ideas, integrity, a care for the people.

I can only hope that the MN opinions are largely down to Bots, rather than reflecting the populace.

Still, the polls. I cling on to the polls.
