Once in a lifetime pandemic.

If we're lucky.

Good to know the government are keeping an eye on H5N1 in the US. Or not.

My constituency is showing as Labour - toss-up. Which is quite something considering how blue it normally is. I can see Bury St Edmunds going Labour, but West Suffolk?

Same here for my true Blue area.

Added bonus it's Braverman out of Labour do win!

user8800 · 03/06/2024 18:52

My constituency is a toss up according to that poll so labour it is

Mine is too. Once the safest Tory seat in the country. 😀

the80sweregreat · 03/06/2024 19:52

Mine won't change from blue to red, but I bet Reform take second place.
The Labour Party won't get a look in.

L1ttledrummergirl · 03/06/2024 20:03

My sil lives in a blue area. Labour are now 3% behind (surprising because I was expecting it to be libdems). Sil won't be voting tory, but may hold her nose and vote for Labour.

RafaistheKingofClay · 03/06/2024 20:18

Current area is toss up Tory hold but Labour within touching distance.

New area is toss up Lib Dem but it’s part of the old constituency where tractor porn guy was and is currently held by Lib Dem’s so I’d be surprised if Tories could win it back.

I’ve never voted Labour before. It’s never been a worthwhile option.

prettybird · 03/06/2024 20:19

If I lived in England, I'd hold my nose and tactically vote Labour or LibDem (or even Green- eg Brighton or Bristol): whoever had the best chance of getting or keeping the Conservative candidate out.

It looks like a buoyed Reform vote might just hand Labour a victory again in ex Nad Land.

Edited

I was wondering how the lessons are going this week. Is there almost too much to discuss?

TokyoSushi · 03/06/2024 20:33

Where are you finding what your constituency is showing?

Piggywaspushed · 03/06/2024 20:33

The chatty ones have gone to exam land, sadly.

I talked to myself, mainly...

I use electoral calculus

pointythings · 03/06/2024 20:44

Whoa. I was looking at YouGov for my seat, which was showing tossup. Electoral Calculus are showing 75% chance that it's going to go Labour.

If it does, I shall crack open the champagne.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2024 20:47

I just checked El Cal again and it now shows Lib Dem 67% winning chance for our area.

TokyoSushi · 03/06/2024 20:50

Thanks @CassieMaddox

Wow, 98% chance of Labour winning here which will be a swing (back) from the Tories.

medianewbie · 03/06/2024 20:54

My areas is predicted drop of 17% Tory, 10% SNP drop with Labour picking all this up & increasing to just 3% behind Tories. So, the smug wee Tory who chapped my door & told me 'not to waste my vote on Labour as it was a straight fight between Labour & SNP here' should think again. I appreciate opinion polls are often wrong but it's close if it's at all correct.

DuncinToffee · 03/06/2024 20:55

Oh 😂

Oh dear. The Conservatives’ first election broadcast shows the union flag flying the wrong way up, which is a distress signal…

Someone’s really enjoying themselves. 😁

countrygirl99 · 03/06/2024 20:56

Mine showing Lab win on electoral calculus. Currently 21k Con majority.

tobee · 03/06/2024 20:57

These Tory cock ups can't be all just accidents ? Surely deliberate?

tobee · 03/06/2024 21:28

Looking at BBC News app it's all about Farage. Nothing about the polls. I know that the YouGov one is YouGov/Sky but even so

Notonthestairs · 03/06/2024 21:35

Yes he's going to suck up all the media energy. Tories will announce leaving ECHR/Rwanda flights/abolishing IHT etc but it will make little difference. And the rumblings about changing leadership will start up again after the temporary ceasefire.

Basically more Tory drama and blatant lies - as if we haven't suffered enough of that for the last decade.

It's actually going to make it bloody hard to dig out real policy information from under the heap of 💩 coming our way.

Zonder · 03/06/2024 22:29

tobee · 03/06/2024 17:25

Presumably Mr Farage has been offered a nice chunk of cash to take over as leader.

How terribly democratic of them.

Evenstar · 03/06/2024 23:50

Farage has lost his temper on BBC News and refused to appear on Newsnight https://x.com/implausibleblog/status/1797761928158130510?s=61&t=xKCXjKa1-S6Ks0nSd_LXGg
